Around SBN: The 2009-2010 Card Chronicle Big East basketball preview

Since things have gotten a little heated on the site the last couple of days, I thought everyone could use a good laugh.

Apparently, the Seibu Lions used much of the $51 million posting fee they received from the Red Sox to improve their stadium, once one of the worst in Japan. Now they have some of the nicest bathrooms in the country and apparently that is important in Japan. Wonder what they think of the bathrooms at Wrigley when Japanese tourists come to see Fukudome?

Say, to raise money to renovate Wrigley, who do you propose the Cubs "post" to a Japanese team?

I wonder if they play music

And thank you for your “deposit” when you’re done? Those are the coolest thing to come out of Japan since Godzilla. And I mean the car, of course.

"If you are comfortable in the toilets, then everything is comfortable."

Words to live by, my friends. Words to live by.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

On my list...

of things to do at some point in my life is to go see a game in Japan. The entire atmosphere around the game just seems different and it really would be interesting to see it up close.

As far as posting someone…the most obvious would be Derrek Lee since he will have just one more year left on his contract (since you can’t post a FA) and since his dad and uncle both played there (and he’s been there to visit) he wouldn’t have a culture shock moment. What? You thought it was because he’s declining?

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
