OK, this may be one of the odder and more dubious sources ever (a very first tweet?!), but if it's good enough for mlbtraderumors, it's good enough for me. Looks like Da Viz is joining DeRo and Woody in Cleveland. I'll try to post another, more trustworthy link in the comments as it presumably arises.

In closing, let me just say that I am completely certain that this will be THE BIGGEST BASEBALL-RELATED NEWS STORY OF THE DAY. I repeat, VIZCAINO SIGNING WITH THE INDIANS IS THE BIGGEST NEWS STORY OF THE DAY!

Mystery solved!

And I think the only thing that could top this story is if the Brewers dealt Casey McGhee in some massive multiteam deal.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Let's see.

McGhee to Baltimore for Pie, Pie to the Mets for Eckstein, Ecktein to LA for Pierre, and Pierre to the Suds.

Well, this will save the Cubs about $800,000...

… that’s a pro-rated portion of the minimum salary for this year, plus the Tribe would be responsible for Vizcaino’s $500,000 buyout for 2010.

Eric Wedge is on death watch in Cleveland

I’ve never understood the high opinions of Mark Shapiro. He’s built a team of DHs surrounded by a paper thin and very overrated pitching staff. Luis Vizcaino can’t possibly be worse than what else they’ve got.

The window for winning a World Series may have waned.

Indians = Overrated

The sixth inning at Fenway last night was historic, when Jason Bay hit a 3 run homer it meant Boston had recorded 12 runs before making an out which is a new AL record.

Final score: Indians 3, Red Sox 13

Jason Bay seems to be thriving in Boston.

I’m actually kinda happy for him. He probably never would have gotten many accolades playing in Pittsburgh. (And, of course, I’m happy he’s out of the NL Central as well.)

True

… the Indians have a very potent offense. They can pound the best of teams on any given night. Their problem is pitching. Quite a few people picked the Indians to win the AL Central. At this point, albeit early, only the Nationals have a record worse than the Tribe.
