From Rotoworld:

Aramis Ramirez suffered a dislocated left shoulder Friday after diving for a ball on third base.
Uh oh. No timetable for his return was given, but this isn’t good news. On the bright side, it isn’t a separated shoulder, which is significantly worse due to ligament tears. A detailed prognosis will be known after medical officials examine him further. Mike Fontenot shifted to third from second while Aaron Miles came in to play second

Its actually better to have a cleanly broken bone than a ligament tear.

If Kerry had broken his elbow in 1999 and not torn the UCL he would not have been out a year.

If you’re referring to WW2, you have it wrong. Hitler invaded Russia in June. He expected to be finished fighting by winter. Luckily, he underestimated the Russians, whom he had thought of as a “sub-human race.”

His curve was getting called a 3rd strike when it was high and outside. On the contrary, Wells had to hit the plate to get a call in his favor.

A man waiting for a train puts a nickel in one of those old fortune telling machines. It tells him, he is handsome, will meet
a very attractive woman, make lots of money and “the Cubs lost today” . It was funny because of course the machine always says the same thing but on most days it was true ( late 70s) .
