Apples and Oranges though

Soriano does admire his moon shots, but Braun dances around the bases like he just hit a world series walk off, and this is not the first time. Staring down Dempster was also quite unnecessary.

He didn't think so.

Neither did the ump.

But, yeah, the ump isn’t catching much of the game, is he.

The point being that if Braun thinks he got hit in the head, and he apparently does, is looking at the pitcher when you take him deep shortly thereafter all that terrible?

Exactly. But some people here seem to only have a problem with it when it's an opposing player.

The Cubs have multiple players who admire their home runs. Just put your head down and round the bases. Act like you’ve been there before.

Maybe we're misunderstanding each other then.

I wasn’t denying that he stared at Dempster, which I suspect he did because he thinks Dempster threw at his head. I was denying the suggestion that he trash talked all the way around the bases.

Still think you're being overly sensitive.

Did you think that Sosa used to “dance” around the bases when he went yard? But he did stare at Dempster, which I’d prefer he not do, though I understand under the circumstances.

by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on May 9, 2009 9:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Perhaps I am.

I just really don’t like Braun and the way he acts on the field. I’d like to see the game get away from that. As for Sosa, yes he did, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok in my eyes.

Fair enough.

I think we agree on both points. I never liked Sosa because of his antics. Braun plays for my squad, so I like him, but I’ll readily acknowledge that he crosses the line after HR’s at times. Not so sure that he did tonight, but I’ll take your point.

by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on May 9, 2009 9:04 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm sorry, but Soriano has done plenty of showboating.

It’s easy to forget him hitting a home run, and turning around and jogging backwards with a huge grin on his face towards first. I agree Braun is pretty crazy for it, but don’t think Soriano doesn’t do it himself.

The past few games

Lou has decided to let the starter take the mound the inning after he has reached a high pitch count. Marshall starting the 8th vs. Giants, Harden starting the 8th vs. Astros, Demp starting the 7th vs. MIL. All three games, the opponents scored runs that inning. Just take the starter out when it makes sense Lou!

I live in Wisconsin. I go to multiple Cubs/Brewers games every year. Every fan base has obnoxious fans. The Cubs do. The White Sox do. The Cardinals do. The Brewers do. Don’t be a hypocrite, every fanbase has idiots who make the rest look like jerks. Generalizing an entire fan base just makes you look like a fool.

I'm not so sure

The fanbase and media seems to thrive on it. I’m watching the Brewer feed, and they’re fascinated with showing unhappy Cub fans. Seems pretty bush league to me. I am FROM Wisconsin, and I’ve always thought Milwaukee has had an inferiority complex when it comes to Chicago. That stuff reinforces it.
