Cubs vs Star Wars
I need help completeing this thought (http://twitter.com/TorturedFanBase) from http://twitter.com/nearlynextyear on an off day:
The Cast:
Yoda = Sweet Lou: English not always so great, but great knowledge within is held
Chewbacca= Z or D.Lee: Z has the temper and probably does a better wookie yell, but D.Lee matches better on the height and wingspan
Han Solo= Demp: witty commentary and swinging single dude
R2D2= Gatorade Machine
C3PO= probably the mysterious pitching machine 'the Fuzz'
Ewoks = sorry Theriot and Fonty but you both came from the same planet and you fit the height requirements
Jar-Jar= Carlos Marmol just for the ears
Princess Leia= intrepid investigative reporter Sarah Spain
Lando Carlissian= Milton 'works every time' Bradley
Skywalker = Leaning towards Soto, but could be K Wood after the CLE series
Sam Zell= Jabba the Hutt
Tony La Russa= Count Duku
Darth Vader = Joe Torre
Emporer Palpatine= Bud Selig
Some other notable suggestions from twitter-ville:
Please add your own in the comments.... images welcome :-)
@CubsMagicNumber A better match for Marmol is Nien Nunb: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nien_Nunb #cubs #starwars
@nearlynextyear I said it once and I'll say it again, Gregg is Tusken Raider. See? http://bit.ly/zPTId http://bit.ly/ctiD0 #cubs #starwars
@ajwalsh08 Sam Zell is Jabba the Hutt.

Selig and Palpatine are truly doppelgangers

but he's not Lord Vader
vis a vis the Cubs. Not enough history.
Ummm...Demp is married
He would make a good Han Solo. But if you want a swinging single dude for the part, look elsewhere.
Actually, Koyie Hill might make a good Han Solo. His reconstructed hand looks a lot like Han’s fingers sticking out of that frozen rock slab thingy.
And since the prequels revealed how non-mysteriously important the midichlorians are to the Force and the whole plot…Ted Lilly as the midicholorians!
Fontenot (fon-te-no): Cajun for "scrappy"
My thoughts
Zambrano is Chewbacca because of size and temper.
That said, Soto is Solo because of the name and the popularity with the ladies.
Fontenot- R2D2. The image of Chewie pounding on R2D2 also makes me laugh.
Larry Rothschild-C3P0: always giving advice that no one listens to.
Kevin Gregg- Stormtrooper because of the goggles.
Reid Johnson- Lobot from Cloud City, obviously due to the hairstyle.
Pujols is Vader. No doubt about it.
Hoffpauir would have to be Luke… the apprentice 1B.
HWSNBN is Jar Jar, because all the fans hate him!
Way back... outta here!!!
One more thing
Prince Fielder is Jabba the Hutt and Ryan Braun is his little sidekick Salacius B. Crum.
Way back... outta here!!!
HWSNBN

That knucklehead was in my
section for about half an hour on Saturday. Taking pictures, being in the way, making annoying sounds and just pretty much being an all around nuisance. Who keeps giving this guys tickets anyway?

I don't know if Soto can be Solo.
You have to cast that role with someone you know will make it to the end of the movie.
Say this much for big league baseball - it is beyond question the greatest conversation piece ever invented in America. ~Bruce Catton
if Fontenot- R2D2
then Theriot should be C3PO, got to keep the LSU brothers together
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
Not sure about STAR WARS
but I think Lilly could be THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK all by himself.

The cape
has to make it hard to go through a full windup. Maybe he is the closer and just pitches out of the stretch…

Hmmm
Han Solo – Soriano – Cocky, unpredictable, is frozen in carbonite (massive slumps) for a long period of time.
Luke Skywalker – Theriot – a young man who is plucked from a life on the farm for something greater.
Chewbacca – DLee – Quiet, loyal sidekick that can steal the show when he wants
Lando – Milton Bradley – Lando is introduced halfway through the Emipre Strikes Back and makes a significant contribution to the film. Lets hope Milton does the same for the second half of the season.
Obi Wan – Aramis Ramirez – Always there to save the day, whether it be Miller Park or the Death Star.
Yoda – Sweet Lou
OK, I gotta admit...
…Soriano as Han Solo does make sense – especially given the “frozen in carbonite” factor. If Felix Pie were still around, I’d say he could be Chewie.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
