Sirott's Gone! Hooray! Oh, crap...
I got all excited when I saw this, but it was for naught. Maybe this will start a trend?

This is worse than a Rickroll.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Wow, I Rickrolled you without even actually Rickrolling you.

+1
Not that I condone prejudice, but the intro “This is a song by a gay guy” somehow seemed to work perfectly
"If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me." ~ Leo Durocher

No, it isn't.

So horrific...I could not stop watching.
Was that Sarah Silverman at the very beginning (:28)?

What is so wrong with Judd Sirott, by the way?
I mean, doesn’t the guy get some chance to settle in? Len and Bob weren’t very good until at leat 2 years into their broadcasts.

Have you listened to him?
"That's what you live for. You live for the opportunity and when that day comes, you better be ready," Soto said. "I tried to make sure that whenever they gave me a chance, I was ready and I knew I had to take advantage of the opportunity."

Yes, but not a lot
I just dont think he’s been so excruciating that he can’t be given a season to find his legs. It does take some time.

I on the other hand
catch almost all Cubs games on the radio. I’ve tried to give him a chance. But he really is excruciating. There are nights when Ronnie actually does a lil pxp in the 5th inning b/c Judd is off on some tangent.
That is wrong on so many levels.

OK, I don't doubt you
So in your opinion he’s forfeited any opportunity to figure it out by the end of this season?
by jerry morales rules on Jun 11, 2009 12:30 PM CDT up reply actions
No it's possible he could... and I'd be happy if he did
I don’t enjoy ripping on him really I don’t. But he makes my ears bleed normally. Anyone that bad, I am going to comment on how bad he is.
If you get the opportunity in the next week, listen to the 5th inning most games and see if you think he’ll improve.

Last night I wanted to rip my car stereo out listening to Judd drag a conversation out of Ron
I swear to God, it was like listening to a 5 year old bothering an adult with question after question. In fact, every time Judd joins Ron, that’s what it’s like.

what kind of fruit do you like?
apples?
What about oranges?
Pears?
I like pears.
Why are you shaped like a pear?
I like watermelons.
I can spit a watermelon seed across the room!
Can you spit?
I like pears.
I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about
“Did you see anyone ever talk to their bats, Ron?”
“Ehm…No.”
“Did any players have superstitions?”
“Yeah”
“Who had superstitions”
Ron names a player
“Who was the most superstitious pitcher”
“I’ll get back to-”
“Sorry to cut you off, low and outside. So who was the most superstitious pitcher?”
“I’ll get back to you on that”
“What was your superstition?”

Also when it's on tv you have the visual so even if the announcers are bad
ie Joe Morgan you can see for yourself what is going on. So there is a little leeway.
During the 5th inning, unless I log onto BCB or have game day up (which often isn’t possible) I am left at their mercy.

todays is quizzing Ron about his packing and if he is organized with that
Almost missed the double,

I'd be happier
if Pat just left Ron alone in the booth for the inning.

Thankfully last night I was over watching it at a friends place
But my least favorite Judd/Ron interaction was where Judd was quizzing Ron about cigars and Ron said he’s never smoked then and Judd kept questioning about the subject. They missed numerous pitches during this. For the next few days I actually got up and turned the radio off during the 5th inning.

I agree with you Jerry...
I listen to the radio broadcasts almost every game. I think Sirott needs to work on some stuff, but I definitely don’t feel the same disdain for his delivery that some people do.
I hope they give him some time and see if he grows on people/gets better, etc…

Maybe the Cubs can get Bob to replace Judd.
Bob is, after all, a huge Cubs fan, and far better on the air.

I hope he gets the morning shift at WGN radio. Jerry Agar has gotten on my last nerve.
Yes I write fluffy fanfiction. I said it. If you want to read some email me for where it is.

With WGN Radio wanting to get "younger" and more "edgy"...
… the 60-year-old Bob Sirott doesn’t really fit.

I don't listen to WGN in the morning ever
So if they are looking to get younger and more edgy, how about Judd do the morning show and Bob do the 5th inning LOL

So he is leaving the station but will continue to be paid.
