Keep Fox around??

That one mystifies me. That and the lack of playing time for RJ. You have two guys who are hitting a bit, and one guy is glued to the bench, the other gets sent down so you can keep a couple ptichers you hardly ever use. What is the logic?

no shot in hell

check the game logs, i’m ALWAYS against the sac bunt

it decreases your run probability, its assinine

it only matters if you’re down 1 or tied and you’re getting the runner to THIRD with less than 2 out, only acceptable time to use

by DartmouthCubsFan on Jun 13, 2009 3:04 PM CDT up reply actions

I actually agree with you on that

I don’t like the bunt, either.

But Lou tried something to shake it up, and it didn’t work.

not to mention

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 13, 2009 3:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Absolutely.

Normally, even if the hitting on a team is bad, the players can still make up for a pitcher’s mistake by stringing together a few good hits. This Cubs team, however, apparently has trouble doing that.

If one of our starting pitchers makes even a small mistake, to this point this season, it has cost the pitcher a win because our bats can’t get the hits.

The Cubs need to think about the future.

If they could get themselves out from under some of these backloaded contracts, the future would be less bleak. Teams in need of a DH, we have 2 high paid guys pretending to be OF. The future of this team was worth worrying about later when they were playing well, but if this is going to be the status quo, then perhaps the future is salvageable without paying out tens of millions for a losing season. Never seen a team have amazing pitching like this and just look so beatable everyday.

Was it my imagination, or..........

did it appear that all the Cubs’ batters were trying to hit everything out of the park?

Um Lou did you ever hear the quote

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

It was by Einstein by the way and he might be able to manage this team better even though he is dead.

"I daydream just like everybody else, I just do it with my body facing the field, so everybody thinks I'm paying attention."- Greg Maddux

Just like........................

Soriano swings and misses outside sliders over and over again = insane
Fukudome corkscrews over and over again = insane

There is some good news.

The White Sox lead Milwaukee, 6-0.

Cubs record since April 2004: 4-0

Like I said

I think the entire division is undergoing a power outage right now. Good thing.

You did say that.

I just hope power is restored for the Cubs soon. I checked the play-by-play of the White Sox-Brewers game … Manny Parra got knocked around pretty badly in the second inning as the White Sox scored 6.

He didn’t even make it out of the inning.

Central vs. Central

There was lots of talk from Cubs fans about how lousy the AL Central is this year. We’ll see.

"People shouldn’t bust your chops just because you’re a Sox fan on a Cub board — but I know it happens. FWIW, I think sites like this are more interesting when fans of other teams join in the conversation." by Shanghai Badger on Mar 13, 2009

The Brewers and Cards must be going crazy

they can potentially run away and hide in the Central with the Cubs sucking so bad fo so long and they can’t get any traction, either.

All right, guys, I'm off.

I’m going to try to distract myself from this game by watching some Star Trek … I hope it works. Talk to all of you tomorrow!

Cubs record since April 2004: 4-0
