I am going on vacation tomorrow and here's what I want to see when I get back
* Aaron Miles -- gone from my life, either to the bench or somewhere else
* Fukudome in the 2 hole permanently
* Zambrano having a clean bill of mental health
* Reed Johnson finding his mojo again
* Sammy Sosa out of my life permanently
I will return next Thursday. I will be in Rockies country, but I doubt I will see any games.
That is what I want. The last time I went away, the team lost quite a bit. Frankly, I blame all of you. Do better for me this time.

Whatever you want Veruca.
As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Vaca for me too.
I’ll be jamming in Telluride at the Bluegrass fest!

No, I belong on Deep Space Nine
We get Voy-a-freakingsucks-ger and that missed opportunity Enterprise, but I only get 7 seasons of Deep Space Nine.

Unfortunately, I'm spending part of my vacation
in Detroit next week, watching … guess who.
Oh, well, at least they have casinos there.

I'm looking forward to it
It’s always fun to watch baseball, and Comerica is a nice park.
Unfortunately, downtown Detroit isn’t exactly Las Vegas, even with the casinos.

I leave tomorrow...
Thought of something else I want
I want to NOT feel like the game is over when the other team goes up 1-0 in the first inning.

nobody makes you feel that way
except for yourself.
I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

Not often...
But that wasn’t the point I was trying to make. The team doesn’t make you feel that way- you feel that way yourself..

And this season, I've been conditioned to feel that way
I get your point. I can choose to be more optimistic.
But it’s hard, man.

That feeling doesn't set in for me
until we go down 1-2-3 in the next half inning.
Then I start to feel a little glum.

Three straight walk-off wins..
.. following some great comebacks!
If that doesn’t help you get over that feeling then nothing will.

I'm going on vacation too.
We are headed up to the Northwoods of WI. Anyone know if the Rhinelander station on Cubs radio network is strong enough to be heard in the Minocqua area? I’m hoping to still be able to listen to the games. Or maybe it would be better not to. We are going up to relax.
I’d like to add to the wish list that I want to see them start the hot streak I’ve been expecting NOW.

Hey, I'm headed up to northern Wisconsin, too.
Door County, to be exact. We’re bringing out laptop, though, so I may be able to chime in here or there. If the Cubs go on a hot streak, maybe I’ll pitch a tent in a state park and ride out the Ws as long as they last.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
