Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

From DRays Bay:

It appears we can place the Pedro Martinez speculation on the back shelf. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports Martinez' price tag is out of the Rays range. Sherman also confirms what many of us suspected by noting the Rays interest in Martinez was in relief, not as a starter.

Pedro Martinez was clocked at 89 MPH tops according to things I read

I stay away with a 39 1/2 foot pole. His arm is all used up and a ticking timebomb. Apparently he is content to hold out for what he thinks he should be making. More power to him just as well as the Cubs aren’t the ones doing the paying.

$136 million payroll for a .500 style ballclub. Good work Jim.
