Former Cub Mel Hall Sentenced to 45 Years
I had no idea this was even going on, but Mel Hall was convicted of Statutory Rape and sentenced to 45 years behind bars for the rape of a 12-year-old girl whom who coached on a basketball team in Texas.
Hall played for the Cubs from 1981-1984, and retired in 1996 with 134 career home runs, and ranks 484 on the all-time Home Runs list.. The accusations came out in 1999, and there was apparently another victim involved, however she withdrew her claim. Hall will serve a minimum of 22 1/2 years before he is eligible for parole. I'm sure there will be an appeal.

Glad to hear he was sentenced
Hope all appeals are futile and they lock him up and throw away the key. And then when he kicks it I am certain there is a special place in Hell for scum bags like this.

I heard about this
and it’s very sad. Not saying that he doesn’t deserve it.

Anyone who does that sort of thing deserves at least that. Freakin' a-hole....

Not so funny I guess...
… but my department has a child support case against him. Looks like we’ll know where he’ll be for a while.
