Again, shut it.
Some of us are passionate Cubs fans — we get incredibly happy when something goes well and we get pissed off when things go poorly. You apparently don’t have any emotion. Which is fine. Very, very weird. But fine. Don’t go slamming people who get pissed when the Cubs F something up though. You just make yourself look like a jackass by doing so.
Sounds like you need some prozac

Cubs need to seriously start all over
I’m talking about manager, 1st baseman, 2nd baseman, 4, 5 pitchers
So who is our closer of the near future? I don't think Kevin Gregg is the long term solution...
Marmol? Shark? Trade? Free Agent? Other?
George Sherrill would be really nice
but especially with the money issues, dont think it’s happening
To close?
No thanks.

if Geo had ever, EVER laid down a bunt
"If it only ends once, anything that happens before that, is just progress."
why
is a bunt absolutely necessary there?
by taking out Soto you’re using 2 players in one move and taking one of your more talented hitters out of the lineup for the rest of the game
you’re making a significant bet on being to convert in this one inning
by DartmouthCubsFan on Jun 2, 2009 9:22 PM CDT up reply actions
See your point.
But 2009 Geo does not inspire confidence and the percentage play is to lay down a bunt. Geo apparently can’t do that. Lou tried to find someone who could.

I am kinda lucky in that respect. I don’t get to watch a lot of games and work nights so I just see a lot of box scores and highlights. Time to go Lou
You’ve been outmanaged with consistency in 2009….time to go back to the booth. You’ve been terrible.
But there are other fingers to point…at a loafing, guess hitting albatross of a contract in LF, a woefully inadequate defensive SS playing out of position, a C whose career year was a year ago, a wild bullpen from top to bottom and a whole host of other guys who should be playing 3 days a week rather than 6 or 7. Otherwise, all is well….because some people still claim it’s early or something like that. Sorry to say but the window of opportunity was a year ago….unless you foolishly believe there is something about this mediocre team that will change things. I sure don’t see it.

Laughable
I’m not sure how you do it man but perhaps you still wake up believing that one day, the sky will indeed be a legitimate shade of purple. The eternal optimism is seriously misplaced with this team but hey, keep at it if you must. Ignorance is always bliss after all.

Albert Pujols for Cubs Starting 1B in 2011

Yep, you got me. I apologize for the losses because I want them to lose because it makes me feel better. I should have recognized that long ago I guess.
But no, cheerleading has never been a strong suit of mine…just never got the hang of the pom-pons I guess.
I’m quite capable of discerning the difference between a good team and a mediocre one and it’s clear what I’ve been watching is entirely mediocre. If you feel otherwise, perhaps you should speak with MLB to get the standings changed. Until then, I’ll let the Cubs’ play prove me correct or incorrect.
If you wish to keep using the "it’s early " routine, that’s your option. But nothing at all leads anyone to believe you’re doing anything but fooling yourself into some sort of false optimism.

We send Hoffpauir to the bullpen. NOT to pitch, but to bat against Marmol as the first batter. Throw Micah 4 balls, THEN come in and pitch!

To me a loss like tonight is much worse than the eight game losing streak
I was at my nephew’s graduation-came out and find out that the Cubs are up 5-1 in the eighth-figured it was in the bag…
Somehow, when Francouer came up I just had a terrible feeling…
That game was a punch to the stomach
Poor Randy Wells
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Losing the ones you should win
That is what hurts. You get blown out 7-2? A loss is a loss. You blow a 5-0 lead in the last two innings, only giving up 3 hits in giving up those 5 runs? Painful.
I fear this is simply a .500 team. They’re back to finding new ways to lose, after finding ways to win last year. Feels shitty.
I have nothing funny or creative to write.

doesn’t Lou look at the numbers? Chipper was 6 for 12 with 2 HR’s against Heilman. I don’t give a damn what the count is…put him on, set up the double play against the slowest guy on their team, and take your chances. This is not rocket science!
There, I’m done…

Why does Heilman always get enough rope to hang himself?
And why can’t Theriot and Lee make a damn routine play in the 8th?? This team sucks.

That really killed us.

Gregg got his three outs. Had a bad feeling about Francoeur, because just about every team has at least one loss like that a season and the Cubs hadn’t had theirs yet.
