I think the only guy
I’d even consider bringing back would be Wuertz.

I don't feel
like he was here long enough that singing him would be bringing him “back”, I guess. :D

a couple thoughts
1) Howry is probably getting the benefits of the Giants’ huge park. I’m glad he’s gone.
2) Marquis probably is just doing his normal first-half thing, though it will be interesting to see if he out-performs Dempster this year.
3) Looks like we should have kept Vizcaino, rather than keeping Patton or Heilman — at least, at this point.
4) Trading Wuertz wasn’t that bad of an idea, but we sure didn’t get much for him.
I’d take DeRosa, Wood, and Marquis back; I never wanted them gone in the first place.

Didn't we just have one of these a couple of days ago?

Sorry,
I just saw that someone else had posted “Last Years Cubs Now”.
I don't think you want Vizcaino
Last night he came in with the bases loaded and none out gave up a two run singles. He pitched well after that but
if you think Heilman can’t get out of jams try Vizcaino. Reliever ERAs can be misleading.
"I daydream just like everybody else, I just do it with my body facing the field, so everybody thinks I'm paying attention."- Greg Maddux
In this case it's not
He has a 1.03 WHIP on the season, and he’s held guys to a .167 average. What really pisses me off is that we’re still paying for him and we gave him away for nothing. Gave away Wuertz for nothing, too.
I have to believe those numbers are going to go up - WAY up.
Unless he doesn’t pitch that much.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
Would it be possible to limit Last Years Cubs posts
to maybe once a week?
"That's what you live for. You live for the opportunity and when that day comes, you better be ready," Soto said. "I tried to make sure that whenever they gave me a chance, I was ready and I knew I had to take advantage of the opportunity."
I agree.
Honestly, once a month at most – and, at some point, we should probably just let it go until the season is over. These data dumps aren’t exactly rich with insight.

they said they missed the other post.
eh.
I’m rooting for my team in spite of the problems. I recognize the team is struggling. I root for them anyway.

Hard to see some go........
anytime you have a favorite player, one you like to watch play, just like the way they hustle/compete it’s always hard to see them go. But, that is the game of baseball anymore.
Yes, it was tough to see Kerry go. He obviously loves Chciago and did his part of community service from what I read/heard. It seemed like the Cubs finally found a role for Wood that allowed his arm to stay healthy and he had success only to let him go elsewhere.
I liked Blanco and who knows if any of Soto’s struggles this year are related to Hank White’s absence.
DeRo was a nice player to have on the team and his ability to play anywhere has been felt badly this year. But, let’s face it…..Ramirez doesn’t dislocate his shoulder and if Bradley somehow had managed to stay on the field I don’t think anyone would be clamoring for DeRo’s return.
As for Marquis put me down for any find raiser that keeps him away from Wrigley. Thought his signing was bad from day 1 and wouldn’t mind if the Cubs would have paid 100% of his salary if it got him out of Chicago a LONG time ago,
Most of the others were/are fringe players that I don’t think would be difference players on a team. Some might be nice to have on a team depending on the role they might play. The only one that I think the Cubs might regret having to give up on is Hill. If he can harness his control he can be a quality SP.
