I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

The Cards @ Mets game is more exciting than thsi one.

Tim Redding actually pitched well enough (into the 8th) to get his first W since September. It’s on ESPN down here in Kansas.

Linebrink blows...

… games and the Cubs more than got to him, they were blasting him. Thornton a dink and a dunk or something like that. That happens at times, even to the best. Linebrink, he just plain blows.

Linebrink

is good in the first half, not so good in the second half. Actually, since he’s been with the Sox, he’s been decent.

Numbers don't tell the whole story...

… lately he’s been getting hit and hit very hard. He’s given up runs in 5 of his last 7 outings. His numbers escaped damage on the Thursday game against the Cubs because the rocket hit at Getz was ruled an error but guys are just teeing off on him.

I thought Dotel

was the weakest link in the Sox’s pen. Linebrink is worse than him?

I'll never trust Linebrink.

And in advance of this season I said that Ken Williams did nothing to improve the Sox BP. Outside of Jenks, they harbor a desire to be arsonists.

Was the weekend an anomaly or was it tonight?

Time will tell but go Cubbies Tuesday – Thursday!

Looking ahead to the Tigers

Zambrano v. Jackson – should be a close affair as long as Z stays composed.

Harden v. Porcello – Cubs need to be patient with this rookie who is having a nice season to date.

Lilly v. Galarraga – if Ted stays away from the gopher ball then I see the Cubs winning this one.

2 of 3

would be great…and not at all out of the question.

I have nothing funny or creative to write.

Too bad

The Tigs put Willis on the DL. Would have liked to see the Cubs get a shot at him.
