He’s been a better LH hitter over his career.

but he’s not a good one from either side of the plate so far this year.

Brain Cells?

“He’s not that good of a left handed hitter”

His career OPS as a lefty is above average, and better than Ryan Theriot’s as a righty. But nah, he’s not that good. SMH…

by ARob1 on Jun 23, 2009 6:52 PM CDT up reply actions

good, lets get into insults

you asked if I have seen his splits. I have. He is a better right handed hitter. Clearly better.

Now, he is not a terrible left handed hitter. But he is not a good one. Comparing him to a light hitting shortstop isnt fair.

by Ryanocm1 on Jun 23, 2009 6:54 PM CDT up reply actions

Are you kidding me?

You’ve seen him? You honestly think that means anything? Forgive me if I don’t trust you’re no doubt incredible scouts eye.

dont just put up a strand of splits, especially unformatted

Your Quote was..
He’s not that good of a left handed hitter

Please explain to me how a .795 ops isn’t very good.

by ARob1 on Jun 23, 2009 6:53 PM CDT up reply actions

A .268 average

seems fairly mediocre. But Ill concede, maybe a bad choice of words. He is an adequate lefty hitter but given our goal was to sign a lefty bat, that seems an odd choice.

not necessarily slumping

but hasnt done anything to suggest he is “hot”

So is your sample size just based on games he hit in recently, or his season so far?

Are you taking exception to something I've said?

if so, I dont think Im off base to suggest he is stuggling as a lefty and many of his hits in the last couple of week have been dinks and dunks. Hasnt hit a homerun in over a month i believe.

Actually I'm siding with you...

….people suggestion Milton is “on fire,” or that “The slump is over!” are using a very, very small and selective sample size.

actually, thats not what u said.

Don’t equivocate and expect to be let off the hook. You said he hasn’t been hitting well, because he’s been hitting mostly singles. He has been hitting well, and the power will come.

singles dont usually lead to major league leading OPS
