New Blog: Sounder At Heart for Seattle Sounders Fans!

I know this is a Cubs baseball site, but I've continually beat the drum for Cubs fans to embrace Northwestern football (conveniently located directly north of Wrigley on the El line, up in Evanston). Great team, great student-athletes, free Goose Island beer pre-games, great Big Ten atmosphere, and a winning team (9-4 last year, 3 Big Ten Titles in the last 15 years).

And now, they have extended their AWESOME football coach, Pat Fitzgerald, through 2015. I hope you all find some time next season to catch a Cats game...its a phenomenal team that deserves Chicago-land support for winning the right way....

Thanks for posting this.

Let’s hope that Fitz can lead the Cats to a bowl-game victory this season. It’s been way too long!

The unexamined blog is not worth reading.

I love Fitz

I not only have my bachelor’s but next June will have my masters from Northwestern. My entire mom’s family went there and 2 brothers have their bachelors, and my other 2 both got their masters there!

I love Fitz to pieces. They should be good this coming season. As most know he was suddenly made head coach a few years ago on the sudden death of Randy Walker. Everyone knew he was a good coach in the making the only question was was he ready.

It’s a great experience on the lake on a gorgeous campus.

Definite recommendation for post game meal? Davis St. Fish Market.

For the record my teams are Cubs #1, Bears, Northwestern and the Blackhawks tied for 2nd. Bulls third. Illinois a (my husband’s alma matter we don’t speak for 1 week a year) and the Fire (I actually follow them) fourth.

Yes I have joined twitter. Find me at puckyprosecutor. First person to identify where the puckish prosecutor is from gets credit! (not enough to spell our puckish).

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
