i'm not blaming EVERYTHING on bad luck
however, there have been a ton of “dang baseball is a game of inches” situs this season IMHO, and we’ve been a bloop hit away or a ball touching chalk away from keeping the line moving…
and remember, that happens to every darn team..not just us
baseball is a game of inches, not just cubs baseball
agreed
good teams make their own breaks, and hopefully the second half will be more cub friendly
clutch???

Have you seen this loveliness by our own GeoBarney?
ChrisDeLuca: Cubs catcher Geovany Soto tested positive for marijuana during 2009 WBC. MLB and Cubs will not discipline Soto.
From Twitter.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

Yes, fail.
It was a bad call, but he was at the plate with the chance to tie it and struck out. Last out in a close game he held the bat on strike three. I agree it was a bad call, but umpires make bad calls all the time, and Dome can’t watch the final strikek go by.

Well take solace in his .231 avg
We thought he was coming around with those walkoffs…face facts he should be batting 5 or 6 in a position for RBIs.
I'm not arguing about his placement in the order...
I wish he wasn’t at lead-off.
But it seems inarguable to me that it’s a positive sign that he got two hits today. It may not be a trend. He may revert back to going 0 for the century again. But what’s wrong with at least being glad that today he performed well?

problem
The biggest problem I see is we are stuck with 3 very mediocre players in the OF for years to come. Any improvements will have to come from new infielders. (not likely)
