i'm not blaming EVERYTHING on bad luck

however, there have been a ton of “dang baseball is a game of inches” situs this season IMHO, and we’ve been a bloop hit away or a ball touching chalk away from keeping the line moving…

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

You bitch about one pitch, and I’ll take some solace in the two solid hits he got.

by CubsWin!Oregon on Jun 25, 2009 2:52 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well take solace in his .231 avg

We thought he was coming around with those walkoffs…face facts he should be batting 5 or 6 in a position for RBIs.

by EamuCanoli on Jun 25, 2009 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm not arguing about his placement in the order...

I wish he wasn’t at lead-off.

But it seems inarguable to me that it’s a positive sign that he got two hits today. It may not be a trend. He may revert back to going 0 for the century again. But what’s wrong with at least being glad that today he performed well?

But if you followed the kind of commentary that Cubsnlinux puts up around here, you’ll notice that’s par for the course. I have yet to see him say a single thing positive about the team. (Check his message history, for example).

problem

The biggest problem I see is we are stuck with 3 very mediocre players in the OF for years to come. Any improvements will have to come from new infielders. (not likely)
