well Contreras can pad is complete game stats
whether he wins or loses today, he’s going the distance with our hackers in the lineup
unless Jake Fox can bat 20 times this game
he can have all the words he wants, it won’t change much

Just thinking
Is it physically possible for Blanco to actually take two consecutive pitches? How about Soriano laying off a pich low and outside?

There comes a time
where regardless of how good the defense is, you have to produce. Unfortunately for Blanco, with everyone else struggling, that is not a luxury we can always afford.
Now, when your $18M a year player is struggling on both offense and defense, we have a real problem.

it supremely
annoys me that he apparently is too much a butcher to put him at 3b in Iowa, but he can handle it here. Why did they wait 2 months to call him up!!!???
DEJESUS!!!
Fox's defensive issues were clearly overstated
The guy is FINE at third.
If his skills are as solid as they appear
then I’m surprised no one has brought up a conspiracy, or if politics may have been involved with all of the talk of his defensive issues.
by Craig in South Bend on Jun 26, 2009 4:12 PM CDT up reply actions
I doubt the talks were conspiracy...
I think he is not a good fielder historically. But it was worth a look. Just poor decisions by somebody.
Maybe, but it could be others...
Hendry did call him up after all. It took a team of errors to cause the situation.
what exactly would be the point of a conspiracy to keep Jake Fox down?

Max has his first game of the playoffs today, so I’m off to that. GO CUBS!
I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.
Good luck to Max!

I think we all understand the background now to Lou's reference the other day to
not knowing the difference between steroids and pot. Since Geo was told about the violation 6 weeks ago.
Interesting…

who care about Geo's pot use
better than him slamming 20 beers every night.
BB said Geo knew for 6 weeks.
I doubt that Geo went the whole six weeks without telling his manager.

Can Randy pitch the eighth?
Anyone know the pitch count?
I'll say 95
just to keep the pattern

So does anyone know
what happened with Bradley? I’m assuming he just spazzed out on Lou, but I didn’t see or hear anything

On the radio, the say that..
He threw the gatorade cooler and Lou and Big Z (I’m still chuckling about that one) followed him down to contain him – Lou sent him to the showers – probably to protect him from himself. I like MB, and think he’s a great player who can/will help this team – but I think he needs some version of what Soto’s been experimenting with – he may be one of the reason’s this team’s playing so tight.

or he should call Elliot Spitzer and get the phone # so he can become client #10.
the guy is wound a tad tight.
…and the hot/humid days of Chicago have yet to arrive.

riddle me this?
wells, fox, hoff — young guys who have alot to prove = great success so far
theriot, fonty, soto (until lately) = job security and becoming complacent???

It drives me crazy. Move him ovah, rovah.

in Freel's defense
he’s no longer a major league level ball player, and therefore we should not expect him to execute.
Plus he doesn’t really care about the team (still can’t believe he wasn’t cut after that comment)

Sucks that Bradley might be benched for a game or two maybe for this tantrum
when we face back to back lefties the next two days
won't be MLB, he did nothing on the field that would merit a suspension from them

Ozzie bringing in a lefty
The IBB makes more sense now.
Dusty would bring the reliever in to make the IBB
then the poor guy was lost pitching to the next batter. Ozzie did it the right way.

I dunno....
unless they hook a double play, Fox will bat with 2 on base
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.
So.. who's the leader on this team right now?
