Cubs hit ball long way, Marmol
Cubs hit two bombs.
Milton had a fit, went all “Michael Jackson” on the gatorade cooler, was sent home by Uncle Lou.
Soriano’s outstanding defense costs the Cubs at least one and maybe two runs but is still the best LF in the NL
Marmol imploded again.
And you are up to date.
Ladies and gentlemen! It's 1985 all over again, but this time the offense goes to hell!
I said they hit two bombs. It is accurate.

Untrue.
Bradley’s downside was well-known,
it was another Hendry blue-light special.
Ibanez could hit .400 the next three years – Hendry will still feel he was too old to sign.
Dunn will still be seen as too expensive.
Hendry fell for the usual "lightning in a bottle " con with Milton – he’s younger, and the Cubs can fix what’s wrong. With a good environment and the respect of a big paycheck, he’ll be the steal of the offseason!
We seriously need to avoid any more “Hendry guy” acquisition via Free Agency.

He did send him home — that’s discipline.
True...
I’m just saying I’d like to see him lay the law down more often.

frankly, I think this is a smart move by Lou
He sends Milton a message but couches it by saying he’s tired of the team’s histrionics.
Yes, MB was the scapegoat. Like that was a hard one.
"WGN, Channel 9 Cubs Baseball, Excitingly, Importantly, Dramatically Yours." - Jack Brickhouse
wasn't the hard one
Because he’s the one who needs to change his ways.
To be fair, a couple of Cubs are getting a wee bit randy with the water cooler after poor performance
"WGN, Channel 9 Cubs Baseball, Excitingly, Importantly, Dramatically Yours." - Jack Brickhouse
Marmol smashed the cooler...
In the 8th after the Bradley incident without repercussion. What leads me to believe there was more too it than just that.

Who knows what happened...
That was Lou’s explanation, we don’t know what triggered it and why it escalated to what it did.

Pretty much lou is saying that hes done with guys throwing tantrums in the dugout
He made an example of Milton

Well, there's one...

Piniella bringing it!
“It’s been an ongoing thing, and I’ve looked the other way, but I’m done with it!”
"You have to have short-term memory, no matter who you are in this game. There's always tomorrow." ~Derrek Lee
I hope Lou said that

So, essentially, we get..
“You’re a piece of crap, and a poor execuse for a ball player…

…
Is it ok if you bat 4th tomorrow?”
by Craig in South Bend on Jun 26, 2009 5:50 PM CDT reply actions
He prolly didn't ask..
“I’m not putting up with you today. BTW, you’re batting 3rd tomorrow.”
Good for Lou
Maybe those who say he “has no fire” can get off his back now.

BOGUS!!
On WGN “Due to a technical issue, we will not hear from the Cubs manager”. Hmmmm. I smell bullshit.
Ladies and gentlemen! It's 1985 all over again, but this time the offense goes to hell!
no they had a problem on CSN's video feed
someone in the back said they had a technical problem

I'm referring to the radio and the online feed.

i know
on CSN’s video feed, you could hear the WGN guys having the technical issue. there was a loud pop, lou even asked about it
Albert Pujols for Cubs Starting 1B in 2011
That was Soto sparking a fresh victory doobie!

did he really say that?

Hawk just asked
about those who questioned Lou’s fire.
That would be me
Took a while for him to wake up , hopefully he will keep it up.

Someone needs to photoshop a Marmol "HOPE" poster
like the Obama ones. I have the skills to do so…maybe I should.

I have more fun in doing it myself
Now, using the David Carusso/CSI comic strip and involving Marmol in that, I would definitely use that website for that.

I think he's healthy
but his mechanics are screwed up.

Good point..
Mechanics can get unscrewed up. His pitches are flying all over the place..

He's not landing in the same spot IMO

But his mechanics have never been great
Going to be really hard to train those muscles properly now that he’s had success being a mechanical mess.

I agree, but lately you can see him falling off the mound all over the place

I think he'll get it back
but I don’t want to see him in the 8th inning for a while.

He'll be OK
I saw him in Detroit the other night and he was solid in the eighth. He can’t spot his fastball very well right now, that’s the problem.
by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 26, 2009 6:02 PM CDT up reply actions
Yep. He can't get his slider to start to the right hand batter's box anymore or at least catch some of the plate
"WGN, Channel 9 Cubs Baseball, Excitingly, Importantly, Dramatically Yours." - Jack Brickhouse
Jeez
How many batters does Marmol have to walk for Lou to stop putting him in the 8th ? What I really don’t get is that Lou has ALWAYS hated pitchers who walk guys but he apparently has too much invested in Marmol to face reality.

so did the Cubs all drive to the game or take a bus
if it was the latter could you imagine MB out there trying to hail a cab? That would be a funny picture
