Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Not trying to stir up trouble, but it's all a product of not playing like we did the last 2 years...

We all sit around and want to blame somebody, and alot of everybodies. Blame Lou/Hendry/Bradley/Miles/Sori/etc. It's all because we aren't winning obviously, and we all want someone to piss and moan about. No matter what Lou does, he will be the center of blame. He doesn't show any fire/shows too much fire by calling MB names...come on. Lots of things haven't been right this year, and you can blame the TEAM for that. Yea, you might be able to blame a leader like Lou, but he is the same manager as the last 2 years. It has been from poor play all around, not from certain individuals, but the team! And with the Lou/Bradley thing, IMHO I think Lou calling Bradley a pos is the same as Bradley slamming stuff around. It was done out of frustration...neither being very professional. But, both having the opportunity to man-up, own their words/actions and apologize. Then get on with baseball/business and start winning this division...that seems to be what Lou is trying to do...I hope MB does, too!

Ick...

Sorry about one solid paragraph, posted on my iPhone, sorry again…

This is being discussed in many threads already.

If Lou called Bradley a POS, then I’m just about sick of Piniella. He speaks of this behavior in the context that it is a team thing, yet decides that Bradley is the one that is going to be condemned for it.

I’m done with this topic for now. It doesn’t matter if you loved the signing and are thus far wrong or hated the signing and basking in a meaningless “I told you so”; Bradley, despite what many here are imagining, is going to remain on this team. In fact, he will have to be a pivotal part of our turnaround if we can right this ship.

Why Lou would single him out knowing about his fragile ego and temperment is beyond me. Soriano, even if he is a solid leader, has the same fragility in his mindset and Lou has catered to him for 3 years (and rightfully so). Z works best when not agitated, and Lou laughs off his antics for just such reason. I don’t see why Bradley has not got the same treatment.

Well, if he's going to address it...

He’s going to have to start somewhere. He probably had enough of it before the MB incident. Most likely he said he was going to shut this kind of stuff down the next time it happens. Whoever it was.

It also has nothing to do with how I like the signing. I’m just saying in the heat of action, people do and say things they don’t mean, no matter the profession. This is where you have to use your man-card, own your words, apologize, and move on.

P.s. This is a post about how people like to play the blame game, not so much about Bradley. I just offered my take on that situation to fill my words lol

I think it entirely appropriate to blame Hendry

the mastermind behind the dissolution of a 97 game winning team

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

Point taken...

But I do like to keep in mind that no one besides the pitching staff is living up to what they are supposed to…

You, me and not Jim hendry could not have predicted the amount of underachievement this year..

The pitching staff

“is living up to what they are supposed to”??? How do you figure that? I would submit that the bullpen is underperforming to expectations, in particular, Heilman and Marmol.

Has Soriano or Z been as the over the top MB seems to be ..

every .. stinking .. year?

No? End of discussion.

MLB is a game that involves good coaching, personnel and as much diplomacy in handling the egos of pro athletes. There’s all kinds of subtext, drama and underlying stuff going on in the clubhouses that never break the surface fully until they get positively insane. That is part of the game. If someone hasn’t figured that out, they need to stop sniffing the idealism crack pipe.

While Soriano may be a bit of a prima donna and Z a fireball given to wild antics, they at least face their AB’s or pitch counts and do their thing. Bradley, however, seems completely unable to grow out of his own fragility. Lou’s of the old school of “There’s No Crying In Baseball” coaching that didn’t play that kind of kinder, gentler therapist type coaching that is what MB seems to be always crying for. I think MB has had this coming for a while and as has been said, there’s very more to this than meets the eye.

MB is being paid to produce and stay healthy. He’s done neither, the Cubs are about dead in the water and Lou’s cool has been exceeded. Let the man reap what HE has sown.

Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
