Death, Taxes, and MB complaining...

This time, however, he is completely justified.   Link here.  I have lost quite a bit of respect for Sweet Lou.

You call a fragile-minded and hot-tempered player a piece of shit, and this is exactly what you're going to get.  You asked for this response Lou and now have created a larger divide in the clubhouse.  If his teammates agree with Lou, then MB will indeed be on that island he spoke of.  I would imagine, however, that many teammates might question any manager calling a member of the team "A piece of shit."   One might have thought Bradley's attitude was already deplorable...what will it be now that his own manager has called him out and condemned him after watching many of his teammates do similar things while Lou shrugs it off.  It's on you now Lou.  Rectify this situation.

good on Lou

for apologizing. Hopefully, this is a bonding experience.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

Rectify this situation?

He already apologized, didn’t discipline Bradley at all, and put him right back in the lineup today… what is it that you want him to do?

It's over............

let’s move on and beat the Sox

Whatever...

Pinella has said worse things to better players and they managed to get over it.

Bradley

is over it just fine. It was Piniella who approached Bradley to apologize.

Unbelievable. This guy could hit .400, and he wouldn’t get a fair shake here.

Sure he would.

If he were hitting .400, I doubt anyone would be complaining, least of all his manager.

there would still be stories

about how he must has some “mysterious” reason to be moved from team to team, and how anonymous players call him a bad teammate.

Agreed

It’s kind of problematic to me that players get passes for their behavior based on their performance. Where because Bradley isn’t performing and the pitchforks are out.

"Do you want a bunch of duds walking around with their shoulders slumped and having no emotions, no feelings?" Bradley said. "I don’t think the fans want that. I think they want a guy who’s going to get into the game and feel a little bit. I’ve always said, ‘I don’t really play baseball, I feel it.’ "

News flash

Everyone gets passes for behavior based on their performance. Salespeople, lawyers, doctors, everyone.

You produce, you get slack.

Bradley hasn’t done a damn thing as a Cub. Zambrano, to name one, HAS. I personally think Zambrano’s slack has run out, but of course he deserved more slack to begin with.

Newsflash

Just because it happens does not mean that it isn’t problematic. Performance should not give someone slack regardless of your profession. Inappropriate behavior is inappropriate behavior.
