Ugh
I hope this is another of those “fake lists” but I don’t think it is.
This is coming from a giant Cubs fan, I’m really happy Pujols is not on that list but I’m more sick that too many people I look up to on the Cubs past/present are.
I'm hoping this a fake list too!
The link was e-mailed to me from someone in my fantasy baseball league. He said he saw this today on their site and he saw a lot of Cubs on there. Thought everyone here would be interested.
Definitely worth sharing
The only thing I can think of is that this list is very similar to the fake one that came out about 2 years ago. I remember Wood and Prior both being on there and being shocked.
5 current Cubs actually
Zambrano, DLee, Aram, Soriano, Bradley.
Plus Prior and Wood. Wood being on there is the one I’m most upset about if this list is true.
Rami's asked repeatedly for the whole list to come out
Hard to believe he’d do that and be on it, or am I still naive?

I remember that too
We can come up with 1000’s of theories if the list is true. Like perhaps when he injured his shoulder the first time he took something he didn’t know was a streroid, etc.
It seems a lot of these players on the list have gone through the Cubs or Red Sox system throughout the years. I hope its fake.
I personally just hope the
true list comes out. Soon.
Just so we can get over this. The slow leak of who’s clean is starting to really drive me nuts.

Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal right about now :)
When the true list comes out it definitely isn't going to tell us who's clean.
Remember these are just the guys who managed to test positive for a test they knew was coming.

I misspoke
I just want the names to come out fully so that we can stop the “Who used before it was against the rules” wondering.
And move on, you know? Just find a different story in this, beyond speculation.
Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it. -George Halas
Corey Patterson is also on it.
You’d think the real list would be in alphabetical order, wouldn’t you?
Also, Todd Helton? Really?

Todd Helton has long been rumored to have taken.

Really?
Obviously, I don’t care much about steroids.
I find the “outrage” that people used things to get ahead manufactured. Of course they tried to find “easy” ways do better.
I just wish when they talked about them they were honest. Steroids are bad not b/c they’re against the law but because they can kill you.

It's spelled correctly though
From what I saw I didn’t catch typos.
Any credible sources?
any credible sources for this list?
Yes I have joined twitter. Find me at puckyprosecutor. First person to identify where the puckish prosecutor is from gets credit! (not enough to spell our puckish).

To be honest
I think this is the same “list” that went around 2 years ago that was deamed fake. Let’s hope it is. Too many predictable names but also too many people that enough Cubs fans look up to.
It was the list from the Mitchell Report
Most of those weren’t on the actual report. These two lists do differ a bit.

Funny
Funny is I emailed Al to say I was taking a sabbatical and couldn’t sleep so I visited.
This sounds like this guys list of people he thinks were on steroids and he threw in a couple of unknowns or lesser names to make it look legitimate.

Are you sure you're on Twitter?
Because when I search for that user name, no results come up.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
This just smells of being false.
I believed the Sammy story but this one I hold no credence.

Ive seen this list for 2 days
but its highly rumored to be false.
I figured it would be a terrible idea to post in on BCB cause of it not being official…plz tell it to not be true.

Fun little Time waster!
I'm skeptical
of anything from a fantasy site that comes stamped with “rumor” and “UNCONFIRMED.”
And I’m someone who does care about steroid use, and whose outrage is not manufactured. There’s a difference between trying to find ways to get ahead and altering the chemical composition of your body in an effort to attain skills or abilities you don’t have.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
That wasn't really directed at anyone in particular
I know a few individuals who were truly disturbed by the steroid stuff…but its just never something I’ve been able to get personally amped up about, you know?
No offense intended.

No problem
I am a bit sensitive about it, mostly because I’m tired of people who seem to view those who are outraged as naive or hypocritical. I understand where you’re coming from.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
I don't really get upset by it either
Keep in mind that America’s favorite sport, the NFL, has more drug problems than MLB has. I think we’re doing pretty fine by comparison.

A tweet came in a while back from MLB Trade Rumors.
“Enough with the fake steroid list, please…”
I’m pretty sure it is indeed not the real list.

One suspicious thing is the lack of non "small" guys on the list
Yes there are some but with a accurate list you would expect a good number of guys so obscure you don’t even remember them. This one seems a bit top heavy with major names.

Yep.
And why is it in team order? Looks like someone went down team rosters by division, picked out a few names from each team and made a “list”.
"You can observe a lot just by watching." ~ Yogi Berra
As we discussed yesterday.
This is almost like a list written by some Cub hating fan going through starting 2003 rosters and picking out the players they suspect.
Half all stars? No roster filler? No huge surprises?
I’m speculating fake lists are coming out by people trying to force out the real list.
if this was still new to me, i wouldn't understand
It cant be real.
Anyone could just make up a list. I know being a Cubs fan I could just be in disbelief but I really dont believe that DLee would have been on anything. He seems like too much of a stand up guy to do anything like that, and so do others on the list.
Whatever happens, I hope more than anything that Pujols has not and is not on anything. I want there to actually be someone out there that can absolutely tear the cover off the ball with natural ability. It is possible to be big and strong without cheating.
I don't wan't to believe Lee is on it, but I'm not going to base my
doubts to the veracity of the list by his appearance or any particular players muscle mass.
Anyway, any truth to the rumor El Pulpo had to stop the HGH when his sixth digit started growing a face?
if this was still new to me, i wouldn't understand
It's not even being reported on ESPN's website
If the rumored list had any weight, we would be hearing about it right now.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
The list doesn't look legit
I call bs.

So 4/5 of the Cubs rotation in 2003
Did someone decide not to share with Shawn Estes???
I doubt this specific list is accurate. But I’d say about 60 percent of the names didn’t surprise me in the slightest and another 20 percent were only mild surprises.
The point is, for a fake list, it sure is believable.
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast
Wasn't there some game late in the season
Where most of us were thinking, “OK, Estes is pitching… this is a loss. Wonder how we’ll make it up” and then he pitched some gem?
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast
Yup, it was one of the key victories to get into the playoffs.
However, the remainder of his season stunk.
if this was still new to me, i wouldn't understand
It's ordered by team?
That screams fake to me. If this list were official, it’d be alphabetical, not grouped by team.
everybody
this site rotoinfo hnas posted fake news before. It wasn’t long ago they claimed the Berkman was going to be suspended 50 games for steroids. obviously that never happened. the site is just trying to get hits
This is obviously a fake
Besides the fact that it’s not alphabetical (IE, somebody went through teams’ rosters and picked out names), besides the fact that it’s missing Jason Grimsley (who was confirmed to have a failed an MLB drug test in 2003), there’s one glaring omission from the list:
Marginal players.
Virtually everybody on that list is a name player. There aren’t any scrubs, any September call-ups, any quad-A players, none of that. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that some of MLB’s top players were using PEDs in 2003. It would blow my mind to find out that they were the only ones who were.
