All right - that was screwed
Still don’t have the score from Gameday.

that code for that play has got to be crazy
probably will take some time.

oh yah, another pitcher's duel
and i wonder if Soto can execute any play defensively. that throw to lilly was terrible.
He's really lost it this year
offensively and defensively
by salparadise23 on Jun 30, 2009 7:10 PM CDT up reply actions
Here's the official explanation from the box score:
B Moss struck out swinging, B Moss safe at on error by player player, F Sanchez scored, An LaRoche to third, B Moss to first on error by pitcher T Lilly.
the error should not have been on lilly
soto threw a ball at lilly’s shoe
"Brandon Moss Ks swinging, advances to 1st on missed catch. Error by Lilly"
“Wild pitch. Freddy Sanchez score, Andy LaRoche to 3rd, 2 out”
So, basically an E1

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 30, 2009 7:30 PM CDT up reply actions
Just look at this board
And I think you might have your answer. Multiply it by thousands.
Nothing like it in professional sports. Not sure anybody can handle it, and it just gets worse every year.
It’s going to take a very, very special group of men to win this thing.
by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 30, 2009 7:35 PM CDT up reply actions
sorry, not buying the cumulative factor
at a certain point, the pressure maxes out. Even if there’s millions of diehard Cubs fans around the world, only 40,000 at most can stand up and boo during a game.
And there is a finite number (thank god) of Phil Sullivan (or was that Paul Rogers?) types writing in the media. And for the most part, folks can only watch one channel at a time.
Yeah, there’s a lot of pressure, but once we made it past the century mark, I think it’s become less of an issue.
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
Oh, I don't think so at all
I think it’s even more of an issue now than it was last year. It’s just getting worse every year.

What really
sucks, beyond you know all the obvious stuff about this entire team, is that last year, even 2007, we could almost bank on a comeback, or at least a valiant effort to put some real pressure on the Bucs’ bullpen. But these yokels have given us no reason to expect anything but a loss tonight.

well, just buy everything and they'd stop talking about it.
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
I want the Cubs to be winners, I want things to straighten out, but at what point are we sellers?
"How's your mother?"
"She's on her way out."
"We all are. Act accordingly."
who are we going to sell that a team would take
too many big contracts and all have no trade clauses
"Cubs Win, Cubs Win, CUBS WIN!"
Steve McMichael: "I'm going to have to have a talk with that umpire down there." Angel Hernadez then ejected McMichael. 08/07/2001

JH has painted himself into a corner
"I'm not so mean. I wouldn't ever go out to hurt anybody deliberately - unless it was, you know, important, like a league game or something." - Dick Butkus
"Yeah, Moe, that team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I’ve seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked!" - Homer
We could be missing half the team at the deadline
and not even know about it beforehand because of Hendry’s secretive nature.
No one wants
anything we have. Really, we would want to shed salary but who wants the idiots who make big money on this team.
Harden, Aram (NTC?), and BigZ maybe

what about
Lilly? One of everyone’s favorites, but his contract is about up, no?

I am just recovering from shock
after seeing Soto’s baserunning.
I would like to call a moratorium
on Soto weed jokes. Only because they are not at all funny anymore. Not even a little. And 30 people making essentially the same joke is even less funny.
DEJESUS!!!
Any other funny topics we can talk about? Nothing's really funny any more..
Except that Derosa fanpost – that was hilarious.

Sorry...
they are still funny.
When he performs like he does, ridicule is deserved.
And, if you can't laugh
at this embarrassing team right now, I just don’t know what to say…
He deserves
ridicule. But he can’t hear the lame weed comments made here. Only we are punished by them. And at that point, the terrorists have won.
DEJESUS!!!

Sanchez just hates us.

or really, really wants to be a Cub
see he plays better against them.

Cubs runs in Overflow 2?
Let’s hope so. Jump!

The Pittsburgh announcer just howled...
the camera showed a shot of the moon. And he started howling. For like 10 straight seconds. God do I miss Len and Bob!
