Around SBN: 2012 Africa Cup Of Nations Final

I'm having a hard time understanding why Padilla--who hit Teixiera twice, seemingly on purpose--was fined for an undisclosed sum, whereas Burnett was suspended 6 games for throwing--and missing--at a hitter. It is quite clear to me that Padilla started this whole thing and Burnett was simply protecting his batters. The only justification for this I can remotely understand is that Mark got plunked in the butt & back, but Nelson Cruz received a "high and tight" pitch, closer to the face.

Still, it boggles the mind that Vincente received no suspension (granted, he doesn't have a team at the moment). Furthermore, it is somewhat odd that Burnett is receiving the same suspension Carlos Zambrano received, and I do not perceive the two incidents to be on the same level of stupidity or detriment to Major League Baseball. Just another reason MLB head officials are mindless idiots.

that's...

odd.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

Oh my God.

This is just… absurd. How can they possibly justify this??

Padilla also has a history of throwing at hitters.

I find it really strange that he wasn’t suspended. Of course we’ll never get an explanation from MLB.

Maybe getting released is his punishment?

Hey, it's a new century!

He won't be released.

He just cleared wavers.

Doesn't clearing waivers make you a free agent?

I thought it

allowed them the option of sending him to the minors

I sit at home after the Cubs lose and wanna pound sand but I know I live in a state without that kinda land. I know in my heart Sori isn't a guess hitting hack and that Dero will never be back. Pitching is King, some do say and hopefully Aaron Miles doesn't play in a Cub uniform another day. By October this I know, to the playoffs we are for sure to go. Go Cubbies!!

You're right, I think it does.

But I suspect they won’t.
