someone called him that yesterday.

just seems appropriate :D

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. Fonty

is a capable, if uninspired third baseman. Fox is… not.

Wasn't the guy coming down the 3rd base line running inside the line?

he seemed to be on the same path as when theRiot was called out running out a dribbler down the first base line last year. he clearly had quite a bit of his body inside the foul line on Fonty’s throw. I am surprised the Cubs did not complain about that.

You can bet that drunk from St Louis would have complained about the runner if he lost that way.

Tough one to lose when you give up four unearned runs. Score one in either of the first two innings and you don’t have to worry about it.

I will say this: I think the Cubs are getting a lot of bad luck. I think I’ve seen more diving catches against this team this year than in the past five years combined. Dickerson is having an All-Star weekend with the glove.

Win tomorrow and win the series and all this is forgotten. Get ’er done.

I hearby apologize to a lot of you ledge-jumpers

I’m listening to the WGN postgame show, and I haven’t heard a caller who make sense yet. OMG, are they stupid.

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 6, 2009 10:29 PM CDT reply actions

oh, those are the people

who are too stupid to get on the internets and join BCB. I’m serious. These are the people who want to put Soriano at second, Hoff in Left and Fox at third, full time.

Yeah, like that lineup is going to work.

Are there any players who we can trade for? Specifically, an infielder who can play all the positions in the IF until Ramirez comes back?

No kidding! Those nuts that call in act like Hoff, Scales, & Fox are superstars!

Plus they also want Koyie Hill in there every day and Murton back!!

And the DeRo obsession here

is nothing compared to the Church of DeRo they’re building on Radio 720.

For sure!

Yeah.

Who all are going to be returning to Wrigley? DeRosa, Wood, anyone else we traded to Cleveland?

Cubs record since April 2004: 4-0

Just those two

but that’s enough.

Who gets the bigger and longer standing O, Wood or DeRosa? And what are the odds of a “Hendry Sucks” chant starting during DeRosa’s at-bat?

Although Reed Johnson did get a standing O last year in Toronto for his first AB. I predict that will be nothing compared to what we’ll see when DeRosa enters the batter’s box at Wrigley.

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 6, 2009 11:11 PM CDT up reply actions

I personally think Wood will get the longer standing O

Because of how long he was a Cub. Nothing against DeRosa, but some of Wood’s accomplishments here merit it.

Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a “Hendry sucks” chant in DeRo’s at-bats.

I hope so

Wood deserves it.

DeRosa deserves a hand, too, but this out-of-whack love for him might skew that somewhat.

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 6, 2009 11:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Wood definitely deserves it.

When he was on his game, he was among the better pitchers in baseball. The first sign we got of how good he could be came in a certain start against Houston in 1998.

Possibly

the most dominating pitching performance in baseball history. Seriously.

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 6, 2009 11:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Matt Murton?

Seriously? I can understand wanting DeRosa back, but not him. He tended to tighten up in pressure situations.

Freel

is supposed to be that guy. So was Miles. There’s some guys out there, but I don’t know what we give in return without going for someone who is a dreg. Freddie Sanchez might be available, but what do you give the Pirates? They’re going to want good prospects, and we need the ones we have.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. Do you really think

the Pirates are going to trade Sanchez?

Trading McLouth makes a little sense, because they’re pretty high on McCutchen. Is there anybody in their system who can replace Sanchez?

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 6, 2009 11:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Who exactly can we give them?

We need to keep our prospects, so if we do trade, who will end up going? I can’t really think of anyone, though I don’t keep up with our farm system as much as I should.
