I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

As L&B just mentioned

Those three wins against us last year were accompanied by 24 runs in support. Let’s hope we can keep that number down.

Theriot has almost as many RBIs (22) as Soriano (26) and is much cheaper

Also, he’s more interested in the game (maybe too interested if you include his caught stealing pct). :-)

RE: Joey Votto

“He sounded better,” Baker said Friday.

Nobody in the Reds’ organization — aside from Votto himself — seems to have a handle on the condition of the club’s top hitter.

“He’s dealing with a personal issue,” Baker told MLB.com. “He wants us to respect his privacy about that.”

i don't consider that situational hitting.

that’s hitting with runners in scoring position. i consider situational hitting: sac flies/bunts, hitting behind the runner, etc. maybe my definition is off; let us call it ‘the little things’.

incorrect. i was talking about the way his

hit, which was both clutch and clean, salvaged a dreadful inning by the cubs. but i was not clear. i was happy about the runs; it was a huge relief in fact. my less than joyous reaction stems from the fact that we shouldn’t have needed a clutch hit if we could play some fundamental baseball.

Liner to left

Soriano comes in and makes the catch.

I love my friends

one went home to Chi for a graduation, and for watching his dog brings me two Giordanios Pizzas.

For what it's worth...

I’m forced to watch the gamecast since I’m in New York, and there are a lot of Marmol’s pitches that are right down the middle being called as balls… this happens a lot with him. I wonder why that is?

This is f'n ridiculous.

Randy Wells is pitching like Cy Young, and he can’t even get a friggin W, because we play like crap.

Carlos Marmol

Has officially lost it, he needs to be traded while he still has some value

by Cubz24 on Jun 7, 2009 2:42 PM CDT reply actions

To be honest

We could probably swing a big deal for a hitter if we involved Marmol.
