I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

As L&B just mentioned
Those three wins against us last year were accompanied by 24 runs in support. Let’s hope we can keep that number down.

Got a question
Why is Soto sitting today, as yesterday he finally showed a bit of life on the offense?

Theriot has almost as many RBIs (22) as Soriano (26) and is much cheaper
Also, he’s more interested in the game (maybe too interested if you include his caught stealing pct). :-)

RE: Joey Votto
“He sounded better,” Baker said Friday.
Nobody in the Reds’ organization — aside from Votto himself — seems to have a handle on the condition of the club’s top hitter.
“He’s dealing with a personal issue,” Baker told MLB.com. “He wants us to respect his privacy about that.”
From here. I do feel for the kid.

the only stat that matters
is wins.
I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

whatever.
i can’t stand the lack of situational hitting.

what did Lee just do there?
situational hitting.
but you call it lucky.

i don't consider that situational hitting.
that’s hitting with runners in scoring position. i consider situational hitting: sac flies/bunts, hitting behind the runner, etc. maybe my definition is off; let us call it ‘the little things’.
"If you play more than two chords, you're showing off."--Woody Guthrie
there were runners in scoring position
and Lee got a hit. The number of outs is irrelevant.

what?
that’s nonsense. when there is a runner at third/less than two outs, one doesn’t need to get a hit in order to be successful in the situation; when the cubs fail in such a situation, it frustrates me. what’s the trouble?

incorrect. i was talking about the way his
hit, which was both clutch and clean, salvaged a dreadful inning by the cubs. but i was not clear. i was happy about the runs; it was a huge relief in fact. my less than joyous reaction stems from the fact that we shouldn’t have needed a clutch hit if we could play some fundamental baseball.

Clutch hits are not lucky.

I think that's exactly why to send him.
We have the lead, there’s two outs, and by not sending him, there’s force outs everywhere.

For what it's worth...
I’m forced to watch the gamecast since I’m in New York, and there are a lot of Marmol’s pitches that are right down the middle being called as balls… this happens a lot with him. I wonder why that is?
This is f'n ridiculous.
Randy Wells is pitching like Cy Young, and he can’t even get a friggin W, because we play like crap.
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that." -- Jerry Angelo (12.30.2008)
Jerry Angelo trades for Jay Cutler! (4.2.2009)
.
Carlos Marmol
Has officially lost it, he needs to be traded while he still has some value
To be honest
We could probably swing a big deal for a hitter if we involved Marmol.
Get Peavy already! I want my #44 jersey!
