the baseball draft really doesn't matter
I'm a lefty, maybe Lou should give me a shot for a position in the bullpen!!
It matters...
it just doesn’t matter anytime soon. But you don’t want to draft bad players.
yeah but in baseball its very hard to tell how a player will develop
round 1 – round 50 have produced equally great talent
I'm a lefty, maybe Lou should give me a shot for a position in the bullpen!!
That's not really true...
Round 1 produces way more MLB talent than round 50. About 1/3 of the players in Round 1 make the majors. The same is not remotely true of Round 50.
who's
on the board that you’d target instead or someone who we’ve missed on already
Wilken's got a good track record
And often drafts guys that people aren’t as high on

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.
