The Top 5 Cubs Games of June
The month of June provided us with plenty of extra Cubs baseball with 21 combined extra innings. If you take out the one rain out that has yet to be made up, that's still 12 extra innings! But maybe all those extra innings wore out the Cubs' bats because of the four times the Cubs were shutout which ultimately resulted in an 11-14 month of June which brings the Cubs to 36-38 for a 4th place spot trailing by 4.5 games... only 4.5 games, the Cubs are still in this thing! The Cubs have their work cut out for them as they go up agianst 1st place Milwaukee and 2nd place St.Louis both in 4-game sets at home.
This month I'm trying something new. Since I rank my personal favorite games by how much I get worn out by excitement after the game is done, I put the 11 wins in an A, B, C categorial order. Category A involves the four walk-off wins. Category B involves the two extra-inning wins on the road and two close games the Cubs won on the road. Category C involves three wins that were sort of ho-hum wins, not that any Cubs win should be labeled as a ho-hum win especially when they're as scarce as they've been lately. Plus, I wanted to not only get every win on the poll, but make it easier to decide by breaking it down into sort of a "seeded" positioning.
Can't wait to see how this poll plays out. Leave comments and good discussions as you usually do.

Can we vote for "none of the above"?
Seriously, A-3 has to be it. Overcoming a 7-0 deficit doesn’t happen very often.

sure...
i was thinking of adding in c-4: a post-poned game due to a rain out.

C1, just because it was the only "laugher"
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.

I picked C-2
because I was there, but A-3 was absolutely amazing.
I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. When they play over their heads, and when they play under the gutter. When they win the division, and then get swept in the division series. When they get no-hitters and when they blow no-hitters. And some day, when they go all the way and get those rings. This is the kind of fan I am.

You sunk my battleship!
I guess I’ll take the walkoff vs. the Sox.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

A-2
For a number of reasons.
I like being the Sox.
It looked like there was no way we’d come back and win.
I was sitting with my trash-talking Sox fan gf in the bleachers.
The weather was great.
I got into a yelling match with Podsednik.

i was there too!
That game was awesome! I was sitting with my Cubs fan gf in the rf terrace reserved. I also put the W flag in Harry Caray’s hand after the ballgame.

A-2 4 Me 2!
Hawk Harrelson may still be complaining.
“I tell ya, Stone Pony, just one missed call can turn a whole ballgame right around!”
This was especially satisfying because of his “Yyyyyyess! Hell Yes!” comment after Alexei Ramirez’s two-run homer. I watched that 8th inning at least a half-dozen times, and it kept getting better.

Could you give us a PG version of the yelling match with Podsednik?

It was actually very PG.
I know the things you can and cannot say out in the bleachers, therefore I don’t risk it.
So he was having a rough day (ended up 0-5) and had K’d the inning before. So he comes out to LF for warm up tosses. I start giving him crap for striking out. He looks back at me saying something I couldn’t make out. I knew I had him. So I started to mock his strike out, swinging my arms wildly (over exaggerating of course). At this point he stopped playing catch and turned completely around yelling “I DON’T SWING LIKE THAT! I DON’T SWING LIKE THAT!”

LOL - that's hilarious.
Y’know, I really wonder about him. One of the Cubs-Sox games this past weekend was on Fox, and they did that “Sounds of the Game” thing after Pods got called out at second when he slid past the base on a steal attempt. His argument with the ump was ridiculous. All he kept saying was, “You’re gonna call that? You’re gonna call that?” And the ump said something like, “Yeah, why do you think I’m out here? To ignore it?”

lol
that struck em as well. I’ve always found baseball players to be pretty funny (maybe it’s the extended adolescence), but he had nothing. He said “are you really going to call that” like 3 times, but couldn’t think of anything else to say. As he stood there, you could see the wheels turning, like he was trying to come up with something clever and/or convincing. But all that came out was another “are you really going to make that call?”. It was so inane that think it made the ump laugh a little before he said the quote you wrote above.
DEJESUS!!!

I guess Scotty felt he had to say something to try and save face.
But basically admitting that he slid off the bag and implying there’s some sort of unwritten rule that umps don’t call that play was pretty lame. Clearly, Pods doesn’t have Ronny Cedeno on his speed dial.

The look on Ozzie's face was like..."um why exactly am I out here then Pods?"

Lol yeah that reinforced my idea that he is a major douche.
Classic. Until we meet again Scott Pods, until we meet again…

Haha that was so stupid
What he was saying was that he only came a little bit off the base so he shouldn’t have called it.

as there weren’t five top Cub games in June
