AA All Star Team

The Southern League has announced their All Star Teams!

This year's game will be played in Birmingham, home of the White Sox AAA club the Barons.

The Cubs organization will be well represented in this game, 6 Tennessee Smokies have made the club. Here they are:
1B Blake Lailli
SS Darwin Barney
OF James Adduci
P Casey Coleman
P Jay Jackson
P Brian Schlitter

The game is on Monday, July 13, the same night as the MLB HR Derby.

I was some what surprised by Schlitter, he was the guy the Cubs got in return for Scott Eyre last year I believe.

Anyways, any thoughts on this?

Darwin Barney

has been moved up to AAA, so he for one will prob. not be playing in the game.

You bet

Both are still 21 in their 1st full years in pro ball at the 2A level, its pretty good, especially for a 9th and 15th rounders.

Adduci

shame he doesn’t have any pop. If so, he’d be that much more intriguing. I think he still has a chance to be a backup OF if the right situation presents itself.

It’s funny how things happen at times – we got him in the Wellemeyer deal when zach mccormack was hurt. he was the makeup guy, but has become the best player (mccormack, holdzkom).

All Teams

Have at least 1 player on the roster for the AAA All Star Game, I found an article about the PCL roster on MiLB.com, but it only says the starting position players and none are I-Cubs, however former Cub Matt Murton will start in the outfield.

have any of them played in an ASG before

or can Ryno take some credit for helping these kids meet their potential?

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
