This may be a case of "change of scenery" benefitting both players.
Francoeur has talent. Maybe he’ll make it in NYC.

It makes sense for both sides
It’s a good gamble for the Mets – at his best, Church is a platoon player. He doesn’t offer much pop right now. Frenchy is younger, so it’s a decent gamble.
For the Braves, they had soured on him. Long run, this clears the way for Jason Heyward. Short term, Church is probably a more productive player this year, which may help.
I understand the move from both sides, but I prefer the Mets gamble here.

Francouer has fallen off the face of the planet
A couple years ago he had all the makings of a perennial All-Star.
$136 million payroll for a .500 style ballclub. Good work Jim.

He was around for sure a month ago
When he crushed a HR to ruin the 5-1 lead Randy Wells pitched for Braves.
Hope he doesn’t become one of those “Cub Killers” since we’re gonna see him for 6 more games now.
