Heilman (2-3) has been known as a second-half pitcher throughout his career.
Is this part true? Is he a second-half pitcher?
Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.
Except for last year.....
…..his numbers the 2nd half of the previous 3 years are pretty incredible.

And last year's drop-off
may have been due to overuse. Simply, the Mets had few options so they kept sending out the same relief pitchers every day. That appeared to take a toll on Heilman last year.

Interesting bit of local humor that article was....
Oh, Aaron, please give us a freakin’ break:
I’ve been able to figure a few things out and kind of settle in and progress as the season’s gone on," Heilman said before Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
"I'm not much of a chemistry guy, you know. Chemistry to me is a pinch-hit double with the bases loaded"--Jim Frey, Chicago Tribune, 1985.
After reading this post, I read this about hometown newspapers
As a former sports writer turned teacher, I miss the flavor of local news. While not hard hitting, I like the Heilman hometown story. I believe hometown newspapers will survive for a while longer, but it’s getting awfully difficult.

Athletes and "hometown " papers
True story. A college athletic department’s press person. asked all incoming athletes to fill out a form and one of the questions was the name and location of their home town paper so they could be contacted about any stories regarding the player. One football player wrote that his hometown paper
was USA TODAY.

I'M ERIC HANNA AND I APPROVE THIS FANSHOT.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
