Whoops. I didn't know you were posting this. I'll delete my FanPost thread.
My pick:
I’ll take all 4 NL guys before a single AL guy in this year’s Derby; and specifically, Pujols.
And I think it’s kinda sad to see Mauer up there, since he’s hitting .380 and the Derby always “ruins” swings.

the Derby always "ruins" swings.
If that’s true, then I really hope Albert wins.

Well, that's why Hamilton isn't in it this year.

or his, um, injury.

You can be sad for Mauer
I’ll just hope it ruins the swing of Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard.
Anything that might help the Cubs “march” to the playoffs, you know.

Adrian Gonzalez (SD) 11/2
Albert Pujols (STL) 9/5
Brandon Inge (DET) 11/1
Carlos Pena (TB) 13/2

Prince Fielder (MIL) 21/4
Ryan Howard (PHI) 11/4

I'm going with Pena
but I really REALLY want Mauer to win. Hands down my favorite player.

Heath Bell is awesome.
The announcer asked him about replacing Trevor Hoffman and how he’s been able to do it. Bell’s response: “well, I’m kind of a big deal!”
"Why are you wearing that ugly shirt? Your mom mismatch the garanimal tags again?"
That’s what to say.

If I were to take 2
I’d take Pena and Cruz.

The over/under on Berman's annoying "back, back, back, back..."
is currently at 87.

I'll take the under.
I’m hoping for a freak technical difficulty and/or act of God.

I need a clarification
is each “back” counted or each time he goes “back, back, back, back”?

I think the HR Derby would be much more entertaining
if it was on TBS, and Chip Caray got to call the shots.
I didn’t much care for Chip Caray, but his home run calls were always exciting to me. His tag line was kind of hokey, but that guy sold a home run like it was the most magnificent thing he had ever seen.
"Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true." ~Demosthenes
I can't even remember Chip Caray's tag line
Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it. -George Halas
Sure you do!
“SWUNG ON, BELTED, DEEP LEFT FIELD…”
I could always imagine him leaping up out of his seat with the call. The sad part is that home runs don’t really take that long at all, and then he has to go back to his favorite activity—filling three hours of airtime with a barrage of factual errors and sloppy homerism.
"Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true." ~Demosthenes
Love that call...
It was normally a “swung on, BELted” but I remember one time he was really into it and, while this is tough to describe by typing, it was kind of a “SWUNG…ON…BEL…TED…WAY out of here!”
Love Chip’s HR call.
Hey uhm...
Does anyone know if this is going to re-air later tonight? I’m going out for dinner in a few and am sad that I will miss some entertaining pseudo-baseball….
Definitely
I’m pretty sure they will have Sportcenter, then replay it at 11ish?

Okay, I'm bored, so here's my suggestion.
Put in a real ML pitcher, no cage, throwing full-bore ML stuff, and have him tell the batter what he’s throwing and where, and see if the hitter can hit it out. That would put the test to the old adage, “Man, he hit that like he knew it was coming!”

I’d like to see someone hit the scoreboard. :D
