Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

He will be used as a starter, making 5 million, most as incentives though

Good move by the Phillies

If they can milk 12 starts out of Pedro then they will definitely get their money’s worth. Pedro’s right arm hangs on by baling wire and duct tape at this stage, but I’m guessing he still has a little something in the tank to give the Phillies.

$136 million payroll for a .500 style ballclub. Good work Jim.

Pro-rata $5 million deal on Pedro is smart investment despite

Even if he is very near to being washed up. And yes, even if he was a roider at one point which I do indeed suspect.

Phils get 12 starts out of Pedro and he pitches to 75% of his talent at this stage? Still a good deal for the Phils.

But you said...

you wouldn’t touch him with a 39 foot pole? Any reason for the change?

obviously

that 39.5 foot pole is collapsible.

Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.

AP saying it's only a $1 guaranteed contract.

$1.5 with incentives. If this is the case, the deal looks much better.

He’s also starting out on the DL.
