Actually, he called it "Co-minsky Field," which is worse.

But, hey, he’s got a lot on his mind and has been travelling a lot. And he may have gotten tripped up trying to use both “Comiskey Park” and “Wrigley Field” in the same sentence.

In any case, while I applaud his remarks about not being a Cubs hater, I still really dispute his characterization of Wrigley Field. White wine? Who drinks white wine at Wrigley Field? I mean, let’s get our story straight here – is it a beer garden/frat party or is it a French bistro? And how is Wrigley more “gentrified” (as Costa says) when the Cell is actually a newer stadium. Much newer. Ah, whatever.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

This is kind of ironic

when you think back to the flap he got for his arugula comments, and the “beer voter” gap he supposedly had.

Hopefully, the arbiters of what’s too political will allow a little send-up, if I point out that then Sen. Obama criticized Cub fans for not enjoying the game and just going to drink beer and now he’s criticizing Wrigley as a gentrified place with white wine. Clearly, Cub fans can say we’ve caught him in a flip-flop.

eh, I still call it that because thats how I remember it from my childhood

It sounds better than US Cellular Field anyway

I'm a lefty, maybe Lou should give me a shot for a position in the bullpen!!

I kinda like "The Cell."

It has a nice double meaning.

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

Better than calling “Lambert Field”.

I decided not to vote based on that comment. Ok really it was because my absentee ballot didn’t make it up to Green Bay, but that wouldnt have helped.

I have always remembered the place fondly as

Smellular Field

Blue mountains high .. Blue valleys low
I don't know which way we will go ..
One summer dream .. one summer dream ..
