Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Just in case anybody didn't know, MLB Extra Innings offers a free preview every year for the first week following the all-star break. So, if you don't get the package and don't live in the Chicagoland area, you have no excuse not to watch the Cubs in Washington this weekend. Happy viewing!

Unfortunately

Comcast chooses not to honor these free previews. Happened with the NBA this year. At least where I am.

Make it happen baby: Cubs, Jaguars, FSU, Jazz, Thrashers.

Hmmm.

Comcast in Chicago usually does.

Be very sure you don't miss the channels. Look again.

Since Comcast is part owner of In Demand with Time Warner and Cox Communications, I do not think any local Comcast cable system would be allowed to bypass this preview unless there’s a technical glitch. What about the NHL free preview? The NHL/MLB games use the same channels.

We have it

on Comcast Nashville

And Comcast Tallahassee doesn't.

But I learned years ago not to trust them.

We didn’t even get FS Florida until a couple years ago.

Do both of you cannot see the preview

have digital cable with other tiers of services available? Because if you just have basic cable — you won’t have access to these games.

What about AT&T Uverse

I don’t think they carry this do they? If someone knows where I can find it let me know?

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Nope

I had UVerse for a few months. No EI and no MLB Network.

But you do get WGN which at least for me was enough to keep me happy. I was fine with not having every Fri/Sat/Sunday game….allowed me to be more social.

However Cablevision begged us to switch back and gave us EI for free for two years. Can’t turn down that offer…unfortunately I won’t be leaving the house nearly as much!

Yeah, digital cable and HD service and everything.

They have a monopoly here so they do whatever the hell they want.
