Carlos Zambrano's Blog
I just found out Carlos Zambrano has a blog. He just started it on Tuesday, and it's in Spanish, so I translated it.
Welcome to my new blog. This is the first entry in what I hope will be a series of installations on which I, as a player, I feel at the time with the Cubs this season and my colleagues. With confidence, Offer me your questions and give me perspective on what you think as an amateur. Visiting you here often ... I hope.
Come the Cardinals
A very important thing to have puppies, and I have always been a good critic, it is like playing against a good team and as a team falls short against teams not as good. I have always considered that there are no bad teams in the big leagues, but there are good teams and some not so good. Whenever a series is good as Milwaukee just have the battery as we say in Venezuela and took the series. San Luis is now and I think it will be a good series because they are one of the teams for the Cubs who are well placed pants.
Speaking of passion and intensity
I always try to do things right and when I go wrong that is why the frustration comes. Nobody wants to do evil. Even me. Nobody wants to do bad work. Everybody wants to do good work. There are things that no one wants to do in the field of play but quit and now. You need only follow and forget the daily and future. I think my colleagues, if one motivates through an energy that brings to the team. It is most important. The energy that brings in a daily, not just when I'm picha, but when I'm on the bench or batting pop out or anything I can do, it is best to transmit that energy to the team.
My plans for the All-Star break
I can not go to Venezuela because it is far and then we have to go to Washington. A visit to Venezuela consider it a journey too far. If we had a game in Miami or Atlanta is closer to Venezuela if you would go to Venezuela, but unfortunately it does not. My wife and I are going to take our daughters to the Bahamas and spend three days in The Bahamas. I forget a little baseball for those three days and share a good time with my family.
Thanks for reading my first blog. Here, wait until next time ...

Either I don't get this
Or the translators wrong, because this is one weird sentence.
I think it will be a good series because they are one of the teams for the Cubs who are well placed pants.

My favorite line had to be this one….

its close
he is basically saying the cards are one of the teams the cubs put there pants on right for…something is really lost in translation i guess its like saying its a team they really buckle down for
A ugly win is better than a pretty loss-Lou
Is that a Cubs-Cards series in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
Don't fret
It’s incredibly poorly written by the author in its original language.
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.
Anyone know what this
A very important thing to have puppies, and I have always been a good critic
is supposed to mean? I’m at a loss.

Um
I think it’s pretty clear, Allie.

I was just about to point that out, too.
LMAO here.

Come again? You know I don't speak Spanish.
In English, please. What? You pooped in the refrigerator? And you ate the whole… wheel of cheese? How’d you do that? Hey I’m not even mad. That’s amazing.-Ron Burgundy to Baxter

Funny - assuming it's real
but running a bunch of text through babelfish doesn’t mean you translated it.
You are a douchenozzle.
Translate that into spanish and check a cubs blog in the Dominican Republic where their resident ambrosiadreams and allie’s will congratulate you for your work and express uncertainties about what it all means.

Calling someone a douchenozzle
and then acting like one yourself.

Sigh.
Yes, it was clearly using an online translator. However, calling someone a name doesn’t solve the problem.
We have some native Spanish speakers on this site. If one of them could give us a more accurate translation, that’d be great, and appreciated.
But please, stop the namecalling.

I think the discussion of the logistics of going to Venezuala for the all-star break was real....
“What? We can’t use my miles or points for these dates!!!!!” Phone gets slammed down, hole punched in wall, puppies scatter for their lives.
This is an oddly harsh reaction to a presumably well-intentioned Fanshot.

maybe someone kicked his puppies last night?????

Apparently, his puppies were well placed in his pants.

baxter you know i don't speak spanish
I work for the Cubs so I am really getting a kick out of a lot of these replies.
Well, the worrier in me is a little dubious about Big Z keeping a blog...
…given the carpal tunnel-like problems he ran into a season or two ago, which were ultimately blamed on his excessive Internet usage. (Half-joking, sorta…) But, that aside, I think it’s really cool he’s doing this in his native tongue. I’d second Al’s call for someone fluent in Spanish to translate these.

If this is him and not one of his handlers/posse, I'll buy you a two-liter Coke
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.
I suppose I'll have to bring my Jack Daniel's then.
I dunno…it is an MLB blog so one would think they’d have some sort of ethical standard for this sort of thing. But maybe I’m fooling myself. It would be cool if someone in the media – Sarah Spain or Bruce Miles, perhaps? – would ask Carlos about it.

It smaks of PR fluff to me
And I’m not saying Zambrano ever was or could be the next Cervantes, but the entry is so poorly-written, it makes me wonder if he had one of his homeboys spew something just to have something up. But maybe he actually is that poor a writer.
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.
Anything's possible, I guess.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Z volunteered to do it (or got talked into it) and then delegated the actual writing duties to someone else. Then again, I could actually seeing him doing it as he does apparently spend a certain amount of time online.

I thought
that was more, ah, observing then participating.
Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.

A Human Translation
Welcome to my new blog. This is the first post of what I hope will be a series of installments about what I, as a player, feel at the moment with the Cubs and my teammates this season. In confidence, ask me questions and give me your your perspective on how you feel as a fan. Come by often…I’ll be waiting here.
The Cardinals are coming
One very important thing about the Cubs, and I have always been a good critic of this, is how we play against the good teams and how we come down a bit against the ones that aren’t so good. Whenever a good series comes around, such as the one we just had against Milwaukee, we get charged up (literally: we put the batteries in) and took that series. Now St. Louis is on their way and I think it will be a good series because they are one of the teams against whom the Cubs really roll up our sleeves.
Talking about passion and intensity
I always try to do things right and when it doesn’t work out that way, that’s where I get frustrated. No one wants to make a mistake. Including me. No one wants to do their job badly. Everyone wants to do their job well. (Translator’s note: Redundancy is part of the original!) There are things that you don’t want to do on the playing field and they just happen. You just have to forget about it and move on with your day-to-day and the future. I believe that my teammates are motivated through the energy that one brings to the team. That is the most important thing. The energy that a player brings each day, not just when I am pitching, but when I am on the bench or I pinch hit or with anything else I do, the best thing is for me to transmit that energy to the team.
My plans for the All-Star Break
I won’t be able to go to Venezuela because it’s too far away and we have to go to Washington afterwards. I think a trip to Venezuela is far. If we were playing in Miami or Atlanta, which are closer to Venezuela, then I would consider going to Venezuela, but unfortunately we’re not. My wife and I are taking our daughters to the Bahamas and spend three days there. I will forget about baseball for those three days and spend some quality time with my family.

Thanks for the Human Translation
My Spanish reading ability is limited. I did notice the computer translator substituted “puppies” for “Cubs” which made me ponder if the Cubs became the Puppies what breed woud it be?

He went to the Bahamas but Venezuela is "too far"?
Someone get Z a world map.

Not to mention
the fact that he makes it explicit that ATL to Caracas is reasonable. DC to Caracas, on the other hand is just insane.

Forgotten sentence:
“I have always thought that there are no bad teams in the big leagues, but there are good teams and some that are not so good.”
Also, “cachorro” is used for the offspring of any animal (appearing most commonly with dogs), so we don’t even have to limit ourselves to breeds of dogs. Why not meerkats? They appear appropriately skittish and frustrating to understand.
