Ryan Dempster and Geovany Soto are progressing more quickly than expected from injuries. Dempster, who broke his right big toe July 5, could return after missing one more start.
“It’s all positive,” Dempster said, adding there’s no pain and the inflammation is almost gone. The original prognosis was that Dempster would be out a month.
