FYI
The Braves are retiring Greg Maddux’s number tonight.
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.
just awful. bad call to d lee and bad luck by aramis.
but that being said if theriot goes to right side and moves dome over we probably at least get one.
i heard lilly was going to miss his start tomorrow?
did anyone else here that? apparently some sort of knee issue?

Well D.C. does have them,
But I always got the feeling when I was there that because of the large expat population, they just sort of had a hodgepodge of foods. Virginia does have a large Vietnamese community, though, so maybe that counts…
Big Z has morgan picked off but theriot is late covering second. and morgan is safe at second.
wake up cubbies.
Ryan Theriot....ML SS.

Why would Zambrano throw to first there?
Morgan had already taken off before he threw? Just run at him. Dumb baseball.
and big Z throws the ball into center but morgan can't advance.
this is about as bad as a start as it gets.
Settle down big fella...
I'm a truth teller, I'm a risk taker, I'm like Johnny Cash - I walk the line...
And Big Z already with more....
pitches than the opposing pitcher. Z is on batter number two. Opposing pitcher faced 4 batters. Ugh.
I'll be happy
if we get out of this inning with only one run scored. This doesn’t look promising.

Classic case of a sinkerball pitcher coming out to jazzed up, trying to throw the ball too hard...

yup. as soon as morgan beat that out I knew it would be trouble. z got pissed and is overthrowing big time.

you are seeing things, I think

Just sayin' ;-)
Wrigley Field is a baseball stadium in Chicago, Illinois, United States that has served as the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs since 1913. It was built in 1913 as Weeghman Park for the Chicago Federal League baseball team, the Chicago Whales. It was called Cubs Park between 1920 and 1926 before being renamed for then Cubs team owner and chewing gum magnate, William Wrigley Jr..

No, it hasn't!
The original comment was about how “horrible” Theriot was. His D wasn’t mentioned at all, just that he’s “horrible.”
And I brought his OPS up to show that while he may not be the greatest fielding SS, he contributes quite a bit offensively.
Well, you're rather astute...
Sorry, but I’m not going to spell everything out. It’s unfortunate that you couldn’t understand that it was his defensive skills that were being refered to, seeing as how, oh, I don’t know, he’s sucked at D today thus far. Hence, commenting on his range, his arm, etc.

Dibble gets worse and worse.
He just said that he doesn’t have a problem with hitting Hoff there because of his previous swing. “Guy takes a hack like that, knock him off the plate”
WTF??
In all fairness
if you had to watch the Nats all year, you might get a little kooky.

"knock him off the plate" can also mean pitch him inside

Dibble calls Nats games?

knock him off the plate doesn't mean bean him
it means throw inside. Which isn’t bad baseball.

This is where a good team
puts a bad team down for the count

Well sure
but this still isn’t a good team. Hopefully the offense is warming up though

Sometimes you just need to beat up on some tomato cans
or, if you prefer, sometimes you just need a nice slump buster.
