They will most certainly be moved. Even though Fonty has hit better lately, I would still like to see Sanchez playing 2b for the Cubs this year. (for the right price of course)

It would make the bench stronger and really solidify the 2b position.

Get Freddy Sanchez

I guess, but...

… right now, they could use some bullpen help and a catcher.

Batting average is overrated.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Both these offers...

Smell really, really funny. Geez, how long were negotiations, a week?

by Damen Jackson on Jul 20, 2009 8:52 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Smells like Pittsburgh was just trying to make a show of giving them offers

so they could claim they tried to lock them up before trading them.

Negotiations were about 5 minutes.

Pittsburgh make some cheap, low-ball offer, which was then quickly rejected by Sanchez and Wilson, in Pittsburgh’s eyes they have now done their part to “try” and keep the veterans and attempt to appease the fans and players, but they can now trade them for whatever they may get in return… a couples bats, a bucket of pine tar, or maybe a PTBNL.

Laugh all you want

All I know is that Pittsburgh robbed Atlanta blind in the Nate McLouth trade. Freddy Sanchez will have value in the open market.

$136 million payroll for a .500 style ballclub. Good work Jim.

I do not disagree

McLouth is really nothing much to write home about.

Well...

I say Sanchez winds up in San Francisco and Wilson plays out his contract in with the Pirates.

Do it

Send our new version of Bill Madlock back to the Pirates. Kind of kidding you know (Milton really reminds me of him).. But we need to get this pile of second basemen outahere and focus on players with a future. Sanchez would be wonderful if the maze of contracts and other neccessary trades would allow.

There goes one over the fence...a Tru-Link fence.
