i have yet to see a case
where incessant booing makes the player hit better. Pointless
by BeltwayCubsFan on Jul 2, 2009 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions
The point is not to make the player hit better
It’s to vent.
it’s not MY job to make them hit better.
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast
vent?
look at the scoreboard and tell me what you’re venting about
Milton ...... see the ball hit the ball
I'm just saying in general
It was silly to boo Bradley after a grand slam. But the idea that we shouldn’t boo because it doesn’t improve hitting is stupid
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast

Although I know the fans are frustrated...
Booing him isn’t exactly the best way to get him to bat better.
So all we have to do is cheer to make them hit better???
This is such a stupid argument
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast
Not necessarily.
If I was performing badly at my job, and I knew it, the last thing I’d need is 40,000 people telling me I sucked. Doesn’t really help your confidence and whatnot.
Look what happens when guys take pitches and get ahead in the count
Pinella has a real, real interesting decision to make tomorrow with Fuld and Soriano. It is going to be extremely interesting to see how he handles it. To have a leadoff hitter that takes pitches and works a count has a ripple effect.
Soriano
has plenty of walks this year. It’s an easy decision. When Sori is ready, Fuld hits the bench.

I have no idea what team you have been watching
50 walks and 150 strikeouts is what you want in your leadoff hitter? Alrighty…that is about the most ridiculous post I’ve ever seen, because that is what Soriano is projecting out to

I don't know
hopefully that was why he wasn’t pitching well and he can rebound to be a good pitcher.
Yawn... they'll need a lot more than that..
Dempster still working on a quality start.. not bad vs the brewers. (but he needs to throw strikes here..)
Strike three!

I finally figured out that maze.
Took me awhile. Had to print out the gamethread and grab a crayon. Went with “Periwinkle”.

Periwinkle
Reminds me of Bullwinkle…I wonder why.
I saw you in that coffee shop, breaking the fifth commandment. Congress passes these things for a reason, Lois.

Nice play by Jake Fox at 3rd. The guy still plays ok in the field.

Wasn't Aramis considered a below average defensive 3rd baseman when we got him from the Pirates?

Losing weight's really helped with his legs
He’s really slimmed down over the last few years… and had fewer problems.

At this point.. the only thing wrong with the Cubs..
Is that their three starting outfielders are in a hitting slump, and a little inconsistency from Marmol. This is fixable.
a little inconsistancy?
he’s been consistant…. ly awful.

Its not just Marmol
Its also the rest of the bullpen.
sort of..
Marshall has been very good, Guzman – good, Gregg – good. I go back no forrth on Heilman, but that only leaves Patton, who never pitches anyway. I’d like to see a pickup of a Class A+ closer at some point, but there not bad as they are..

Milton Bradley
YAY Milton – I hope you turn it around so we can cheer for you.
I saw you in that coffee shop, breaking the fifth commandment. Congress passes these things for a reason, Lois.
Uecker: "BIll Kurtis is here to sing TMOTTBG. They'll cheer for him I'm sure"
Earlier he told the story of when he himself (Uecker) was booed throughout his entire rendition of TMOTTBG at Wrigley, followed by Cubs fans singing it a capella. The Cubs broadcasters apologized to him but he says he really didn’t mind – “it was a pennant race.”
i thought that was one of the cooler TMOTTBG moments over the years.

That's what he does
And usually it goes down OK, but this one time he was booed start to finish.
Have to say I’m enjoying listing to the WTMJ broadcast; haven’t had the need to switch back to Pat & Ron. Unlike, say, when the White Sox broadcasts.
I've never had a problem with it
It’s really wierd that it’s a Decatur station – I spent a lot of my childhood near there and live out west now, so the local commercials are funny..
