I apologize for starting a lame debate on the preview thread

and I meant no offense to those mentioned. I have a good amount of respect for both parties. I was trying to be “funny,” but I failed. I hope you all, specially BLou and drewishdrewid forgive me.

One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.

Just get a win. Somehow.

A 5-2 road trip just looks better.

Look at it this way.

If the Cubs go 5-2 on the trip, they’ll have a chance to have knocked 2.5 games off their deficit (should St. Louis lose tonight) since the All-Star Break. And they’ll be a game up in the loss column.

That’s the glass half full view.

I was on vacation for the last two IndyCar races, so I didn’t talk much about those. But with the recent changes at IMS, I’ve posted a few things there.

I should have more up this weekend, too.

Where are the hits and RBI’s going to come from? Z is probably our 4th best hitter today. I don’t care if Lou is looking for the left vs. right matchup, I can’t understand playing Johnson, Baker and Bradley the same game. Any insight on the new stadium?

With my trip to MSU to see Iowa play there this season, i’ll have been to 8 of 11 Big 10 stadiums, but the Gopher move actually puts me back at 7 of 11. I’ll probably try to check it next season.

10-2

I see at Ohio State and at Penn State / at Wisconsin being the only hurdles. The Hawks won in University Park last year, so they won’t be overlooking us.

I’ve got Michigan homecoming (a night game at Kinnick!) tickets… so psyched.
