Pretty good article here from Jerry Crasnick sizing up recent trades of Aces, such as Colon, CC, Tim Hudson, Dan Haren, Johan amongst others.

I still can't get over Sabathia's dominance

Brewers truly had something with him on the team for half a season.

While I can’t root for them because they are in our division and we also were in the post season but I can’t help but feel that was the Brewers one real shot at going far in the post season. Well they went one more game farther than us!

Yeah, money aside, I was surprised he didnt stay in the NL

But who knows how serious any of the NL suitors were…his numbers wouldve been a lot better in the NL, as we’re seeing his Ks are way down

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

it's easy to forget

that there were many, including myself at the time, that preferred the Hudson return a bit better than the Mulder return. I don’t think anyone knew Haren would blossom like this, although they always thought he was a good arm. At the time, Dan Meyer was considered a big time talent who had TOR potential, and Charles Thomas had a shot as a leadoff type hitter. Cruz seemed to find a role as a power pen arm and hope was that he’d get better and perhaps be a late inning guy. Barton was a talented youngster, and Calero was a decent pen arm, but overall, there were many that thought the Hudson package was a bit better. That’s why, when judging trades, you need to judge them with 2 perspectives – at the moment, and with hindsight. I can’t fault Beane for that Hudson deal … it looked really good.
