Billy Martin used to go into a series and pick out the one or two guys that would light it up against his team and do everything he could to take that guy out of the equation. Intentional walks, unintentional walks, chin music – every trick in the book. Maybe we should be doing that with Votto.

by Lou here…why let harden swing? squeeze play, harden is REALLY fast, worst that could happen is a bad bunt and you have bases loaded 2 out.

Why would you want to work the count there? Both pitches were good to swing on. If the wind is tamer both of those are GONE.

Because Owings was wild in the second

working the count may get him out of the game and into the bullpen.

Milton Bradley

Nice to see him play some good D and get a few walks and a base knock…And he sick slide into homeplate. Does Adam Dunn make the basket catch by the dugout? Does Adam Dunn score on a Soriano double? The answers are No and HELL NO.
