Something drastic

Santo gunning down everybody on the 25-man except Andres Blanco. And then beating Judd Sirott to death with one of his artificial legs.

It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??

I dont get Lou

You just don’t bat Fontenot there. If he is playing the numbers, he would know that Fox hits rightys and leftys better than Fonty

by niuhuskie224 on Jul 27, 2009 9:52 PM CDT reply actions

Stevens is solid

I love the kid, maybe we get him the win tonight right here

Trying to sneak the squeeze in

Seems to be the consensus

by Clutch16 on Jul 27, 2009 9:53 PM CDT up reply actions

if thats the case

you use Blanco

the decision made zero sense

you take a high risk play (works maybe 50% of the time) instead of an 85% chance to win if you simply let the AB play out

a DP or K are the only results we can’t win the game on

by DartmouthCubsFan on Jul 27, 2009 9:58 PM CDT up reply actions

then use Jake Fox

and bunt

because its always better to put out an inferior option in hopes of “surprising” them

hell maybe we should PH for DLee with Rich harden

by DartmouthCubsFan on Jul 27, 2009 9:59 PM CDT up reply actions

I know his thought

but my god, i am just so tired of these moves by Lou, letting Z hit in the 7th, and this in the 9th.

by niuhuskie224 on Jul 27, 2009 9:54 PM CDT up reply actions

Why is that on Lou?

Fontenot bunted through a great pitch to hit. Would’ve ended the game right there most likely. This was on Fontenot, NOT LOU.

Z hit a double tonight. I don’t get your logic.

No, Fontenot could have won it

Of course, he put together a rotten lineup by batting Johnson first. And he let Zambrano hit in the 7th.

Lou isn’t blameless, but Fontenot should have bunted the ball.

There is no such thing as an ugly female breast

by Worf on Jul 27, 2009 10:11 PM CDT up reply actions

the bunt

should never have been called

there are so many ways that AB can go where we win just by letting it play out, he was forcing something that wasn’t necessary with a pitcher who was struggling to find the plate (making it even more difficult to execute)

by DartmouthCubsFan on Jul 27, 2009 10:12 PM CDT up reply actions

And ironically

the pitch he whiffed on was right within distance.

Of all the bad things that happen there — foul bunt, bunt pop-up — the last thing I expected was a whiff.

This.

Seemed like a needless call to make.

"Do you want a bunch of duds walking around with their shoulders slumped and having no emotions, no feelings?" Bradley said. "I don’t think the fans want that. I think they want a guy who’s going to get into the game and feel a little bit. I’ve always said, ‘I don’t really play baseball, I feel it.’ "

i would have liked to have seen us use our bench/lineup a little better

not using our best pinch hitter in the 9th ((with the bases loaded) when you knew he had to go in for Hill anyway….using Marshall for one batter….

Character building game

Houston’s in the thick of this tight race. Every game counts now even though there’s 65 games left. NL central is going to end up having the most exciting race in baseball towards the end.
