Jeff Clement is a DH...

he was awesome to watch in HS in Iowa, but his catching days are over. Gotta wonder if the Pirates are going to flip him.

LaRoche just got traded to BOS

by socalbob on Jul 29, 2009 1:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Yes.

Per this:

The team said Cedeno will report directly to the Pirates, while Clement is headed to Triple-A Indianapolis and Pribanic, Lorin and Adcock are being assigned to Class A teams.

Right now, Pittsburgh is playing Steve Pearce at 1B most of the time, though I think Clement will eventually pass him on the depth chart.

Freddy Sanchez I think right?

Or Jack Wilson who was traded earlier today. Either way, either SS or 2B is open and over on the Bucs SBN site they weren’t too excited about the two stop gap replacements so I would think Cedeno is going to get a shot.

I would imagine so.

Without Wilson, they’re looking at Luis Cruz or Ramon Vasquez there. They could call up a kid from Triple-A, too.

Either way, their options aren’t too good.

Really like the idea
