Solid move for both team

Jeff Clement can flat out rake and should take over at 1st base in Pittsburgh. Meanwhile Seattle acquires a quality defensive shortstop and team leader type. Ian Snell still has upside too.

Freddy Sanchez will be gone to San Francisco shortly.

Cubs will win 79 to 83 games. Season has been over for weeks. St. Louis will eventually run away with this division. And you can print it. BLou (7/21/09)

More likely...

… Clement will catch and Ryan Doumit will move to 1B.

DAMN

I just saw that story and had the same headline idea.

I’m looking forward to the Cubs fans booing Cedeno when he comes to Wrigley.

I think the Pirates come away winners here. Both Snell and Wilson were unhappy in Pittsburgh. Clement is a future all star (well, now that he’s in the NL that may change give the depth at 1B), and they got some good prospects.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Pittsburgh has made two good deals

The robbed Atlanta blind in the Nate McLouth deal and made out well in this Seattle deal. Cedeno is a stopgap. Key to the deal is the potential of Jeff Clement.

i canot confirm it

but CSN said that Sanchez has been dealt to Frisco

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Cedeno was handed the M's starting job

When the hideous player known as Yunelski Bentencourt (or something like that) got traded, and promptly went on a .167 tear…. Somehow I don’t see him making the 2010 Pirates roster, or even being the starter come roster expansion on September 1.

It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??
