get a chance to start against the mets. we play them 6 times in late aug/early sep. we cewrtainly shall have iced down a playoff spot by then. it would be ironic were aaron to throw a no-hitter gainst his former teammates?

if thats true… i have gained some of respect for jimbo

He can throw a fastball at 87MPH and make you look like a fool. He can spray lines drives to right field. He can put up with crappy offense and take the loss. He is Randy Wells. He is the most interesting pitcher in the world. Stay healthy, my friends.

Astros Released Russ Ortiz

Today’s performance was apparently the last straw.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Wait, what the hell are you talking about?"

Just saw that

Glad the Cubs were able to pound the final nail in his coffin today.

Harry Caray: Marshall is going back to LA to get cocaine for his injured foot.
Steve Stone: Harry, that’s Novocaine.

Just saw

Ascaino and Hart on mlbtraderumors

"Do you want a bunch of duds walking around with their shoulders slumped and having no emotions, no feelings?" Bradley said. "I don’t think the fans want that. I think they want a guy who’s going to get into the game and feel a little bit. I’ve always said, ‘I don’t really play baseball, I feel it.’ "

4:47pm: ESPN Chicago says the Cubs sent pitchers Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio to Pittsburgh for Grabow and Gorzelanny.

6th round pick last year. Played well in low A last year.

Here is what it says on his bio page:

<Was named Northwest League Postseason All-Star…started professional career with Class A Short-Season Boise…batted .351, 27 runs scored, 25 RBIs, 11 doubles, two triples, one homer)…went 4-for-5 with season-high four RBIs in 10-4 win over Tri-City on July 16…played final 31 games of season with Class A Peoria in Midwest League (.262, 15 runs, 4 RBIs).

Dome has 4 RBIs

Good morning – Dome has 3 hits and 4 RBIs, assisted by personal hitting coach Kyosuke Sasaki? Well, you should hire him and then we don’t have to listen to his horrible commentary on NPB game on TV… :-P
