id rather have hart or ascanio than gorz

He can throw a fastball at 87MPH and make you look like a fool. He can spray lines drives to right field. He can put up with crappy offense and take the loss. He is Randy Wells. He is the most interesting pitcher in the world. Stay healthy, my friends.

Yes because Pittsburgh is building the New York Yankees' future

In a few years when Hart gets a better control of pitchs, he will get a chance to join the bigs and wear Yankee pinstripes. Tell then Hart will master his control down at the Yankees 4-A team.

Russ Ortiz was released by the Astros. That means both starting pitchers for today’s game is not even on the team they started for today less than an hour after the game ended. That has to be a first.

I agree

I think Gorzelanny has a ton of potential. 2nd round draft pick from 2003. Has some heat, pretty good slider and changeup. He just has to work on avoiding the big innings and I think he can be a very serviceable starter.

And Grabow is a great pickup for our pen.

Gorzelanny was actually hurt last year

He’s been good this year since coming back. He put up excellent numbers in AAA.

This was a win for the Cubs; Grabow’s a type A free agent, Gorzelanny’s under club control for a few years year, and Hart and Ascanio don’t really strike me as guys with that high of an upside.

by Wreckard on Jul 31, 2009 9:28 AM CDT up reply actions

Hart has been more lucky than good since his "audition"...

Ascaino probably wasn’t going to see the majors the rest of the season.

We got a LOOGY, Marshall may move into starting rotation, Gorz is better than Hart if not.

I like it. Experience over youth. But the addition of a left hander in the bullpen is the key.

Now it turns out that another fanpost had put the names in a few minutes before but you really can’t expect me to go through EVERY post , I only looked at the TITLES not the dozens of posts below. Also I did not see the fan shot because I was thinking fan POST. It is always a conflict between rushing to report breaking news and not trying to duplicate. kind of like the “first” thing. I certainly would not have posted if I had seen anything with Hart & Ascanio’s names. When I did I e mailed Al directly and said he could delete it but by then it had too many follow ups.
