Coincidence or not, Soto has hit .315 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in 16 games since Joshua arrived. He homered Thursday against Brewers reliever Chris Smith, smacking a 2-0 fastball over the left-field wall.

This is Encouraging
I don’t know the best way to figure out other Cub’s stats since Von Joshua arrived… but I’d be curious to see the before and after lines of a few more players since Von took over.

I don't know which helped Geo more
Having Joshua around or announcing his failed drug test. Apparently the latter had been hanging over his head since early in the season, and it wasn’t clear when the international committee would release it.

He's a professional though,
so I doubt he’s out there at home plate, whether it be on offense or defense, thinking about that. I think the pressures of being the NL ROY may have gotten to him a bit on the mental side, and his physical appearance would seem to indicate he was slacking in maintaining his, well, physical performance. He can get back into shape, that’s easy, but unless his mental game comes around, he’s going to struggle. Perhaps Joshua helped with that more than anything else because it’s obvious the kid has the physical tools to play the game.

Um...OK
So being concerned about his reputation from a failed drug test doesn’t cross his mind, but being ROY does? I don’t see the difference. Both are part of the mental game.

Since June 14
Sori .200/.257/.246
Riot .333/.373/.391
DLee .300/.367/.629
M.B. .278/.418/.352
Dome .218/.306/.382
Fonty .163/.217/.186
Koyie .154/.154/.231
Hoff .194/.219/.484
DLee, Soto, Bradley, and Riot are doing better under Joshua than their season #s; the rest are significantly worse.

since Josh has come up
is it just me, or am I seeing more warning track power as well. Seems everyone is swinging for the fences right now
