Please educate me. Why is power from the outfield corners more important than power elsewhere?

Is it because usually players in the outfield are not known for their defense, so that’s why they’re outfielders…? And offense is all they’re really known for?

Corner outfield spots

are just spots in your lineup that you count on power out of. Same with 1B and 3B. CF, 2B and SS are generally played by the more defensive-minded players who may provide you with more speed and hit for a higher average.

MISSION: POSSIBLE

I’m heading out for burrito night at a local mexican restaurant. As for the rest of you all, your mission is to bring home a Cubs win!

When I get back, I want more than heartburn and gas. So think positively and “git ’er dun”.

GOD, I hate that expression…

Well, you know what I mean. GO CUBS!

ain’t fooling anyone today. Anyone know how many pitches he wound up throwing last night?

Thanks

That’s a pretty good amount to be sending him right back out there again today after a DL layoff.

Couldn't Samardzija have pitched here?

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

From Des Moines?

Or did he get called up with Demp on the DL?

Correct

Hart was the pitcher who got sent down (and then came back up).

Blue Jays released B.J. Ryan

He’s sucked this year. But, could try to pick him up, and revive him… making him your LOOGY. Moving Marshall into the rotation.

Makes you wonder

What makes this year so different from last year? Last year, this team found ways to win. This year, it’s back to the Cubs of old. The talent is still there.

One person

Does not a team make. One person does not explain all the offensive problems on this team. It’s not like the guy was Albert Pujols or Barry Bonds.

Of course he's not Pujols or Bonds

He’s DeRo – a far superior offensive talent than either of the hacks you mentioned
