This could be a great move or a bad one.

Pedro had little left last year. Whether he has anything now remains to be seen.

it's worth a 4 million gamble though

Apparently, if this deal DOES happen..

… and it hasn’t officially yet, the $4m would be pro-rated, so it really costs the Phillies only $2m.

Phillies GM declining comment but a signing seems likely.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

I hope this ruins all my Mets’ friends’ day. Awesome.

Will it ruin their day or make them laugh?

It will only ruin there day

If he sucks all season and pitches a shutout against them.

whew

glad we dodged THAT bullet.

I'm a Cubs FANATIC. They are my team, through thick and thin. [ibid] This is the kind of fan I am.

$4 million?

I wouldn’t have paid $750k. Good on him, I guess.

I guess this means no Halladay for them

I'm a lefty, maybe Lou should give me a shot for a position in the bullpen!!

Let's hope

He doesn’t pitch like the Pedro we all knew in 2 weeks when Cubs play him.

But then again, it’s not too hard for Cubs to make him look like that ace is it? :)

$10

That’s saying the deal will work for the Phillies. It never would have worked for us.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Nice signing

Pedro’s arm is in tatters but I bet he can still dial it up for 3 months. That’s a good deal for the Phillies. And rumor has it that they have the prospect ammunition and the desire to pull off a deal for Roy Halladay.

$136 million payroll for a .500 style ballclub. Good work Jim.

And not one person has complained

That Cubs should have signed him?

Do all the newbies who supported this not know about fanshots yet?

Too busy...

Talking about the cure all that is composed of getting Brian Roberts, Mark DeRosa (even with a wrist injury, he could still be the hitting cure!) and Roy Halladay (the new Jake Peavy).

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

I don't mind the Halladay talk

Because at least his team has admitted their willing to talk trades.

Which would you rather?

4M for Miles or 4M for Pedro?

I guess Pedro.
